We are sailing Silver Spirit Maiden Voyage 12/23 to 1/3 Barcelona to Lisbon, arriving at 9 a.m. in Barcelona on 12/22 from IAH in Houston and going back on Continental on 1/3 from Lisbon. We booked Hotel Continental for one night on 12/22, a risk, I know. The cruise has a few overnights and 6 ports. All are new to us.

I love those times when both ships are in port together. We've had more fun going back and forth between ships and always seem to run into fellow cruisers and staff we know on "the other" ship. It's like a family reunion!

Dec 28 Ft. Lauderdale Dec 29 At Sea Dec 30 At Sea Dec 31 Cartagena, Colombia Jan 01 Panama Canal Crossing Jan 02 Fuerte Amador, Panama Jan 03 At Sea Jan 04 Puntarenas, Costa Rica Jan 05 At Sea Jan 06 Puerto Chiapas, Mexico Jan 07 Huatulco, Mexico Jan 08 Acapulco, Mexico Jan 09 At Sea Jan 10 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Jan 11 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Jan 12 At Sea Jan 13 San Diego

Mark and I will also be sailing with Wandra and others on RIO! We are so looking forward to everything about this trip... except (of course) the yellow fever shots we're scheduled for in a couple of weeks. :mecry: (Ouch!) Happy Sailing to all December LCTers... and, Betty & Larry: Can't wait to read your Seabourn impressions!

Mia, we're having our shots on Tuesday. Then photos, then visas...
Have you signed in with one of the roll-calls on cruise critic? If not, I'll let you know when and where there will be a meet and greet.
(There are two roll-calls--one for the Dec.4 Rio-FLL segment, and one for the whole Discovery Cruise.)

GREAT itinerary, Marcie - New Year's Eve on Voyager followed by Panama Canal transit on New Year's Day. We have always wanted to do a PC transit! SOMEday...
We are like you, we hardly even make it till midnight on NYE, but we sure did on Paul Gauguin a couple years ago and it was such a blast - the perfect place to be on NYE is on a ship!!!

Hi, Wandra - Lucky you that those y/f shots are today just a recent memory! :) Am not signed up on the CC roll call and appreciate the heads up. I'll be glad when shots/visas are out of the way and all I need to focus on is packing!

Our New Year's Eve Pre-WC plans have changed. Our Voyager cruise was oversold and we were offered an opportunity to "voluntarily bump ourselves".
Considering our hectic travels during the past 2 months we jumped at the opportunity to take a Future Cruise Credit as well as a full refund. As much as I know we would have had a wonderful time,we're very happy to be able to stay home for more than a couple of nights before leaving AGAIN. We are happy campers and will look forward to our next Regent cruise when we're not running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Hopefully, Peggy and others will send seamail. I know it will be a wonderful cruise.

Hi Marcie,
So happy to hear you and Tom won't be "running around like chickens with your heads cut off!" I prefer to visualize you trying to climb up on the elephant in (forgive my aging memory if I'm wrong) Bankgok on your first world cruise! I so loved all your reports and pix from that voyage.
Happy New Year!

Wow Marcie... sometimes things just fall into place and work out for the best don't they? I know you and Tom must be sad to miss the cruise but grateful to just be able to relax for a few days. Have a happy New Years Eve at home!

Marc, you are already getting things from Regent from day 21! Hard to say whether when you get to that point you would choose the free cruise on Seabourn and wait til 140 nights (maybe need more now for 14 nights?), or your present and past perks on Regent, isn't it? I guess Regent figures you would rather have more instant gratification, like free internet and some phone time, then limited pressing? Then free laundry? And then free drycleaning after about a gazillion days? Not to mention all those newspapers, and what about priority dining reservations? Interesting to know what others would prefer, since I think Seabourn not long ago elevated the nights needed to get a free cruise, or reduced the value to a 7, rather than 14 night cruise. Ngaire can correct me on this one.
