Woke up to the Portland Press Herald here in Maine with the Navigator on the Front Page. It had just docked in Jacksonville for the Super Bowl. Very neat to see it on the front page.

One of the best photos I've seen of the Navigator in Jacksonville. It has been so rainy and foggy.

Tickets....thanks for the link.

My husband just asked me if we had ever been on that ship...duh, "yes honey, in November, remember?"

If would certainly be a wonderful time to reboard wouldn't it.

What a great photo of the Navigator. It gave me goose bumps to think I'll be on it in September.

Now for my geography lesson. My son lived for three years in Portland, Maine, but I only got to stay one night there as we were touring. Where is Jacksonville in relation to Portland? Perhaps I should have read the article instead of just looking at the photo as I hate to admit it, I don't even know what the Super Bowl is. Baseball? Am I banned forever from this site?

Lee, you are so funny!
Geography lesson from Suzie:
1114 miles as the crow flies from Portland, Maine to Jacksonville, Fla. From one end of the east coast to the other.
Super Dooper Bowl is the culmination of many monday, saturday and sunday nights and days of nail biting FOOTBALL! :D

Lee,
the Super Bowl is Professional American Football, to select the national championship.

Jacksonville is in Florida, our southern most Atlantic coast state. If you go north along the Atlantic coast to the northern most state, Maine, you'd get to Portland Maine. (not to be confused with Portland Oregaon, which is on the Pacific coast).

Lee,
Further clarification, American football is nothing like what you may call football (we call it soccer in our part of the world). It is still a rough and tumble sport with feet and a ball, but the ball is a different shape and players wear a lot more padding. Now does that help or confuse you totally. Aren't cultures fun!!! :hello1:

Just saw the Navigator on a segment of Entertainment Tonight!

Great shots of one of the larger suites - they were quoting prices of $1000 per night for cruises. Of course this week it's "priceless"!

Whoops - sorry everyone. Of course I know about your grid iron and now realise I should have looked up the atlas before showing my ignorance. Thanks for the explanations.

I'm trying to make myself feel better by telling myself that not many of you would have heard of Aussie Rules or Rugby League!

Tickets: I know you have no way of knowing that my Mum gave me a boy's name but I'm really a girl (that's stretching the imagination a bit these days). I will be around your area in September but won't be able to take up your kind offer as my son and I will be on the Navigator sailing from New York to Montreal. Can't wait!
