I am on the Mariner in May and I hope everyone who is sailing in the meantime will continue to post their opinions of the included shore excursions.

Started looking at Regent and Crystal cruises for 2011. We don't use Seabourn or Silver Seas because we prefer medium size to small ships. Noticed that Crystal's all inclusive marketing initiative takes the form of a substantial onboard ship credit that may be used for anything including shore excursions. If all inclusive is here to stay, prefer the Crystal to the Regent approach.

IF Crystal would go to open seating dining, I might consider them, but until then...

Agree. Open seating much better. Unlikely Crystal will offer it with present ships as the dining facilities (i.e. size)are not configured for it.

We will be trying Crystal this Fall. Great prices and the "As You Wish Credit" is pretty good. Not sure if the dining will be that horrible as we tend to eat at the same time on Regent most nights.

We've been on Crystal and Cunard, which both have two seat dining. Although I didn't like the idea of it, in reality, it didn't make any difference. We like to eat late so we just pick the late dining and if we get hungry earlier, we just have a few hot apetizers in one of the bars but usually I'm trying to stall dinner as late as possible because I'm not hungry. It's hard to be hungry on a cruise ship :) The 8pm or 8:30 for late seating is perfect.
