Never having sailed on the Navigator I am hoping someone here will be able to help us out.

Some friends of ours that have never cruised would like to try cruising on a short cruise and I happened to notice there is a 3 night cruise in December on the Navigator.

Since it is so short we are looking at booking one of the window suites and not a balcony as we most likely will not have much time to use it.

I read on the "other" cruise board that on deck six the window suites do not have a direct oceanview instead you have a walkway of sorts that is used by the crew - do you not see the ocean at all from these suites?

The person who posted this said the window suites on deck 5 were better as there is no walkway to obstruct the ocean view.

I was one of the posters that answered that thread. I have been on deck 5 twice and really like it.

You do see the ocean from window cabins on deck 6 but they have outside that walkway that the crew uses. So I would think you have to keep your curtains closed if you want privacy.

Why pay more for that?

Sue, I was in a deck 5 Navigator suite a few weeks ago. We had a fine view of the water. Plus it's a short walk to the Compass Rose and the elevators.
