Warren, glad you got up to the bridge. Capt. Dag is great about this type of thing. My husband use to go there daily or close to it (I'm sure he wore out his welcome).
Are you traveling solo ?

I have always wanted to this. Yes I am single and this is a great way to travel. I just find everyone on this ship so pleasant. The food. We had caviar for breakfast. From The Caspian Sea. I probably ate what would of cost $300 in the US. For Breakfast.

I'm sure Larry's "418" here was a typo. I was told a number close to 618 (which he had in his blog) which makes far more sense.

Yep...typo...in too much of a rush due to spotty comm problems or too much good wine..I claim the former! It is 618 pax...sorry.

Hey Folks, just an update. It's starting to get hot but it's cloudy this morning and it rained last night. I have recovered from my late night at the disco the other night. Do they do the King Neptune ceremony? We are N 03, getting close to the equator.

Well they had one on Voyager in December coming north from Rio. It was wild. But you have a different captain, who knows? They poured goop over people's heads and them dumped them into the pool--passengers as well as crew. In the pouring rain. But it was optional of course; I demurred.

We cross the equator at 10 pm. We are at N 01 now. No sight or mention of King Neptune, but this is the first of four times we go back and forth on this cruise.

Larry, how is cabin 713? We are booked in that cabin on our Athens-Venice cruise in October. We've never been located in that specific hallway of the Voyager.
Enjoy, enjoy!

Enjoy, enjoy! We've booked that specific cabin, again, for our July 18th cruise in the Baltic. Our first choice is this cabin or its counterpart on the opposite side depending on where we perceive the light/interesting sights will be. Excellent choice!

Originally posted by pkd: Scott, what is it about that area that you like so well? This is great to hear! Well, it is where a lot of the Cat G cabins are and we like the forward location as opposed to midship on Deck 6. While we aren't bothered by the vibration that has been reported on the Voyager (and we did have an aft cabin one cruise where it didn't cause us any problems) we just like to be forward. Also not bothered by the probably higher pitching in rough seas than mid-ship cabins. But you don't want to be too far forward because the windscreen of the ship blocks the forward view from 701 to about 709. (701 is a Master Suite whose veranda mostly lets you see where the ship has been!?!). Relatively short corridor with no through traffic. We like the "feet forward" cabins. All of the above applies to the mirror-image cabins on the port side. We make the port/starboard decision based on where we think there will be more to see or, on some cruises like summer in the Med, where there will be more shade. And, habit.

Sorry...I haven't been lurking or posting on LCT for a few days...too busy uploading my journal, working on photos and enjoying the outdoor communal life of glorious sea days.
Now to the question about Suite 713...we enjoy this location of the ship immensely. I agree with all the previous posters. It is quiet, no thru traffic. On this voyage almost all cabins on this relatively short hallway are occupied by full world cruisers...so I beleive that attests to its popularity. We had 810 in the same area for our 2007 WC and were very specific that we wanted to be in this area of the ship this year. Just saved a few buck by being in a G rather than F.

Thanks, everyone, for the information about 713 and that hallway. Sounds perfect. It's very good to know that our suite for our October cruise is so nicely located.

The internet has really sped up . Yesterday in Papeete we had a nice sail in and then the skies opened up and rained. It's hot and humid and now we are sitting in Sunshine in Moorea. I think Regent is great as I can't think of one complaint.

When I turn 21 and get the free internet I'll get a photobucket account. During peak time it's very slow because everyone else has it for free. I send an email with a 100k photo and it takes 10 minutes. I wait to 1 am to get my mail out sometimes where my BAC level is an issue then.
I'm guessing we have 20 ft swells coming just off the bow today. YeeHaw.

I love this. It's all I can do is to set here at my desk watch Fox and post. Maybe some of my mates will disagree. But this is a rough ride. The captain says it's a small gail. Well I would hate to see a big one. 50 nph winds. My Stewardess is so sick.

Do they ever tell to stay in your cabin if it's really bad? I am sure we are nowhere near that. They have warned us to secure things in our cabins. Some of these elderly folks are having a hard time getting around.

Well, maybe. I have heard of cruises where people were confined to their cabins, but it was from Alaska to Asia, not on a WC and a rare occurence. Warren, you must continue to keep us in touch with the little snippets you give us!
I think what they are saying is to turn the (liquor and perfume) bottles on their sides so they don't fall over and break!
