OK Which of you wiseguys put in the UT "Hook 'em Horns" icon? It is time for that to go away!!!!!!!!!!! Those of us from many other Big 12 schools & other conferences, could sure do without that one. Almost, and I say almost because it is smaller, as obnoxious as that waving Nebraska flag of Rays.

Yikes! Betty, I agree ...... "Hook em Horns"...... must be one of those irritable virus' that are going round. And, of course, I am overjoyed to see that you'd sooner see my Husker flag vs. UT's. :app: http://www.loucan.com/sidetrack/huskerclock_2004.html Hey, how about getting me a ticket for the game in Norman and we can meet and swap stories about memorable games, viz. 1971....that would be a nice place to start. 3-28--London & Egypt. Cool! I envy you on that one; then on to Las Vegas to meet up with the Radisson Rat Pack (yep, I'm jealous about that one too); 7-23 Norwegian Fjords. Shoot, how about joining Penny, me and Ngaire on the 6-26 Norwegian Fjords; 12-6 meeting up with my PG buddy Canadagal. Neato. Hey, you're doing it up right! Cheers! Ray I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving -- we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it -- but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. I have a son who is a tea sipper, Marc. Does that count? Believe it or not, I have a daughter and other son that are Aggies. Thanksgiving is very interesting. We moved from Ohio to Dallas in my daughter's senior year in high school. She was accepted at both schools and not knowing what the differences between the schools politically, she chose A&M because "it was a prettier campus". When she really found out what the school stood for, it was too late. We are a pretty liberal family and we had great family discussions. But all three of them got great educations. Marilyn

I had never heard the turn tea sipper until I met my husband - a grad of U of H. And I lived in Dallas for 3 years before moving to Houston & I went to OU (& grew up in Norman, that has a big rivalry with UT. So I have never understood the term myself. Maybe it is something the Aggies started long ago when it was an all cadet school. Being a retired librarian, I should research it, but no time for now.

OK everyone. A FYI.
Just looked it up & it is a term that started in Aggieland. Unable to find the origin, but definitely under the Aggie vernacular.

I guess I'll have to jump on the UT bandwagon since I grew up in Austin, my Dad's been on the UT faculty since 1966, and our daughter is a freshman there. Betty, you and Meredith will have to visit on NorFjor723.
Actually, I'm the strange one since there are only 3 of us, I think, who grew up in Austin and left! Everyone else will do anything to live in Austin. Great university in a great city.

Sansue, I had to laugh when I saw your post. Yes, I'd say your daughter might have had culture shock if she went to A&M expecting a campus culture like UT. No personal experience with either school here, just 25 years of observations while living in Texas.
Mr. Kimmi, funny!

Do you think it meaning Miami helps??? My football memory is long, very long. And OU had that defeat to Miami several years ago. I will never support Notre Dame - & that goes back to the 1950s when they broke OUs longest winning streak. This is what happens when you grow up in a college town from a state that few people knew anything about & being able to say the place with the great football team. And I believe in supporting the conference when OU is not involved, and this worked for many years until 1971 - OU-Nebraska. And then UT entered the conference, so I now have to make 2 exceptions to my conference rule - Nebraksa & Texas. But Miami & Notre Dame remain on the out of conference "will never support" list. LSU doesn't count this year. OU didn't deserve to win. See I can be fair, in my weird way. I guess I won't be visiting FL until you retire. I can already see you putting me behind bars for some offense, once you hear I am in the state. And I think it is wonderful that your nickname is "Mr Oklahoma" We should have a lot to talk about in LV. I will find an icon for you. Just have to wait until I return. Boomer Sooner Betty

Well, Princeton kept it close against Texas in the first half, but that second half was a complete disaster. I still remember the upset over UCLA in 1996 and of course the near upset of Georgetown in 1992 (I think it was 1992). Oh well. When your entire team is unable to jump, I suppose winning in the tourney is more than a stretch!
