My hubby and I are on the 10/15/05 PG with a pre-cruise at the Bora Bora Pearl. I've booked my air through Radisson from LAX to Tahiti. I'm using AA FF miles for the JFK to LAX leg. Long story short, I need to book my FF flights before I get my air from Radisson. I'm planning on booking the flight to LAX on Monday, 10/10/05 and staying overnight for whatever flight I may get from Radisson on 10/11/05 to Tahiti. Coming home on 10/22/05, I assume I'll get one of the 2 ATN late flights out Saturday night, and am booking my flight home from LAX to NY on Sunday 10/23 in the afternoon 1:15 or 2:15 flight. Anyone have any advice/thoughts on this from past experience? Thanks! I'm also looking forward to the PIP reviews when you get back!

Sounds like a good plan to me. Going out to LA is good idea, but why not use Radisson air from NY to LA? They may provide an overnight at LAX for you since you are coming from NY. I would check with your TA.
ATN does not have a big variety of flights. You can check out their website to see the schedule if you want to make sure. The flight back to LAX leaves at 1030pm Saturday from Papeete and arrives at LAX at around 9AM Sunday. You should have plenty of time if you book an early afternoon flight back to NY.

Thanks for the advice. I just booked the Radisson air from LAX to Tahiti because I can get free flights from NYC to LAX and a free room in LA with my hotel points. If I booked with Radisson from NY to Tahiti it would cost me around $1,000 more and I would loose control of choosing my flights from NYC. I had also read that Radisson doesn't always put you up in a hotel the day before when traveling from the east coast. I do like the "perks" I'll be getting with booking the LA to Tahiti flight with Radisson. Hotel room on arrival, day room the last day, transfers, less stress...

Assume you weren't interested in the new nonstop flights that begin in July from JFK to Tahiti.

I'm not comfortable taking that long flight from NYC to Tahiti. Also, the days they offer it don't coincide well with the cruise and pre-cruise. I'd prefer to break up the trip going with an overnight in LA. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it! Babs
