Tami, our fearless leader Ngaire will be on for the first 3 days of the cruise. She is probably the best travel agent I have ever met!

So Ngaire is the travel agent? I am so sorry...I am trying to put everything together based on what I've read here and have obviously made some bad assumptions. I look forward to meeting her, and everyone else.
Airline tickets are done, hotel reservations are made, and insurance is purchased. Now for that wardrobe...

Yes, Ngaire is the boss, I am the LCT board moderator.
As for wardrobe, you probably have everything you already need since there are no formal nights! Maybe you are like me and like wearing new stuff, it's just more fun to get dressed! Do not believe what anyone says about me and shoes......it's just not true! :angel2:

Hi Everyone,
Sorry if I am asking really stupid questions, but I was wondering about the embarkation procedures in Fort Lauderdale on Regent. Other lines I have cruised on have separate check-in lines for past guests, penthouse guests, etc, and generally embarkation starts around 12:30 or so. Could anyone let me know what to expect in Fort Lauderdale in...107 days??
Thanks a bunch!
Tami

Tami, I usually only see two lines, the AMEX express check in and the regular check in. Neither line ever has a line except in FLL, lol. For some reason, check in there is slower than any other port I have left from.
I never use the AMEX line as the regular line was always empty and not even sure if they still do that?
We can usually board around noonish BUT we have heard that before our cruise, they are doing the yearly health inspections so we might not be able to board early.

NO stupid questions here!!!!! I think we get on around 12:30-1:00 go and have lunch and get to cabins around 2:30?? and NO NO "separate" lines regardless of cabins - that is how I remember it

Thanks Karen and Joanna! I just didn't want to pull a faux pas right off the bat, and get into some sort of line I'm not entitled to! I really hope they don't limit the early embarkation. The last time that happened to us, we weren't allowed to board until after 1:30...and it was a nightmare. The safety drill scheduled at 4:30 was delayed 3 times (but we were forced to stay up on deck the entire time, just in case) because so many passengers were still stuck in the embarkation process. Obviously, this was not Regent...but made me really cautious about late embarkations for future cruises.

Oh, yeah, I KNOW I will love Regent. Heaven help my poor husband. He tries to keep me happy with all the traveling I like to do (he travels a lot with his job, and would just as soon stay home when he can). Now that we're trying Regent, I am sure I will not go back to anything else. I'm thinking he'll be looking for a second job after this cruise!!

Tami, I hope you will love Regent! My first cruise with them was in 2000 and I was sold from the get go. Have been on more than 25 now, all 7-21 days, and have never come home feeling less than ready to book again. Almost always, I do it onboard! This seems to be one of the biggest lct groups ever on the Navigator. I hope I will get to meet you!

I agree w/Olivia! I think our first cruise was 2001 & tough to go back to the mainstream lines after that. Regent is half the experience. The LCT peeps are the other half. Great bunch of people. I can't believe we haven't been w/you guys since MUSH, or wait....maybe Tahiti...2005? I cannot wait! The invoice coming soon.....not so much

I know, Marcie  Lots of upheaval the past few years.... some good, some bad. But, we are ready for some LCT trips now!! Joanna, if I remember correctly you had a hard time convince T. about that trip. Didn't he think you were part of some weirdo internet cult????

Well not sure when your last cruise was Kimmi, but we met you and John on MUSH in 2006 and are so glad that you are joining FUN2. Know you've been thru some tough times lately, glad you are ready to cruise with all your LCT friends and have some fun. (know you probably don't remember Frank and me, but thats OK, you will before FUN2 is over - LOL).

It was my Tom that thought I had joined a cult before our very first Radisson cruise ( Venice to Rome ) VO1 (I think that's what it was called ?) I would say things like "Denise says this"..."Sherri says that"....
Tom said "Who in the H*ll is Denise? Sherri? Suzanne ? etc. He was very worried until he met all the great people, and that was before we had LCT.

Too funny - Greg pretty much thought the same thing - "Why is Kris so obsessed with these people?" (although he didn't come right out and say it) - then he met everyone at HODOWN and now he totally GETS IT! And he can't wait for TUT so we can get to know everyone better.

Tami, 1997 was our first cruise with Radisson on the Song of Flower!! I guess we are probably the seniorist couple of this wonderful bunch of people since we are 85 and 95!!! But we still go, go, go. And most always with these great friends. You will love this bunch.

ACK! Jean, you were on the Seabourne Spirit when it was attacked by Somali pirates in 2005?? I don't think I'd be brave enough to get back on a ship after that!

Can anyone tell me if the suites on the Mariner have DVD players? It probably sounds funny, but I like to do exercise DVDs (especially if the fitness center is really crowded). If there isn't a player in the cabin, I just need to bring my portable one with me.
Thanks!
