At the end of a Navigator cruise late last month - Rome to Nice, I spotted the Voyager, Legend and Rotterdam crowding the harbor at Monte Carlo. The Rotterdam had to transfer their 1300+ passengers ashore in a seemingly endless line of tenders.

*edit* The pic is the Legend and Navigator at Nice. The Voyager was at monte Carlo and the Rotterdam was anchored just off shore.

Legend and Navigator snuggled together.

Thanks so much for the photo - we'll be boarding the Legend in 44 day....can't wait.

Monte Carlo looks great. How was your cruise?

I did a land trip the early 90's and stayed 10 days. We still sigh and remember every minute. The lunches at the Cafe' de Paris and people watching...Bentleys and Rolls...fantasy world.

Thanks for the great picture. We have been on the Legend embarking from Monte Carlo, and will be there on the Voyager in May. I hope the Voyager can dock in the same area.

Actually, the picture shows the Navigator and ??? docked in Nice. We sailed from there on the Voyager on 14 October. Oddly enough, our cruise was originally scheduled to sail from Monte Carlo and then changed to NIce...but the Voyager actually docked at Monte Carlo on the 13th. It sailed, overnight, to Nice. Must be the record for short cruises (about 15 miles by sea). The Nice cruise terminal is fine and easy to get to. Just don't ask your taxi to go to Monte Carlo (or vice versa)...double-check the actual docking location. Larger ships also anchor off-shore at Villefranche (between Nice and Monte Carlo) to add to the confusion.

Ahhhh, the Legend. Have a GREAT time Margo. I'll be boarding the Navigator in five weeks. It'll be fun to try Radisson. I'm looking forward to do the Seabourn/Silversea/Crystal/Radisson comparison.

P.S. Margo, the Legend is boarding it's crossing to FL today. I'm soooooo bummed I'm not on that. I have about a dozen friends boarding today. I never made it off the waitlist. It seems you have to book Seabourn really far in advance now to get a decently priced cabin. When the new itineraries come out in Spring '07, their phone will be ringing off the hook!

Prices start at approximately €10,000 per square meter and go up stratospherically from there.

Now I'm really confused. *edit* The pic link I posted was labeled the Legend and Navigator. I should have made a diary instead of depending on photo sequence numbers. The photo was taken on Saturday, 28 Oct. I was in Monte Carlo by 10am on Saturday, 28 Oct via limo. The Voyager and Rotterdam were there at that time. I have other pics that clearly show the ships names. Too many ships and ports so close together!

I understand that helicopter service is cheap and fast (10 minutes) from Monte Carlo to the Nice airport when traveling alone on weekdays at €75 versus €135 for a taxi. We went in a very nice Mercedes Limo arranged by Regent. It was a 20 minute drive on a Sunday morning and the driver escorted us to the Air France check-in counter for our flight.

We had a great time with obvious information overload. Sorry for the confusion.

Julie...I wish I was boarding the Legend today TOO! We've done two crossing on Seabourn in the fall they were fantastic. We booked our December cruise last January - it's been a long wait but I'm sure well worth it.

You'll like the Navigator - we were aboard 45 days last fall and we loved every minute! It's hard to compare with Seabourn - because the number of guests changes the dynamics but you'll still feel well cared for. Enjoy!

The Voyager was in Monaco on Sunday, at the dock, while one of the Crystal ships tendered. one of the Regent Executive VP (both were on on board for the first part of the reunion cruise) was gleeful!

[size=8]Too Many To List - 416 days & counting on Radisson/Regent, and 150+ days on 8 other lines, with one cruise booked next month on the Mariner, Miami to Honolulu 22 days
