I am getting ready to book a trip to Fiji next year and have picked Blue Lagoon Cruises for the trip. Has anyone been to Fiji and if so is there a prefered time of year for the best weather?
I would also like a recommendation for a pre cruise hotel for a few days considering the long flight to get there.
I met a couple on the Star Clipper in December that had sailed with this company but they didn't have an opinion on when best to travel there.... but did say they had a fab time and loved the product...inly 76 passengers......lots of water sports and friendly locals.
Thanks for reading.
BTW...will be on the Rad Voyager on Dec 5 this year...anyone else sailing with me?

We went to Fiji in 1989, so can't begin to recommend hotels now. I just wanted to say that their seasons are reversed to ours, majorly. During those days, Mark needed to travel in our winter, but the earliest we could hope for slightly cooler weather (and less rain) was late April into early May. We stayed at Turtle Island, and it was half full at the most.

We took the 7 day Blue Lagoon cruise in November. It was a perfect time of year. We were very glad that we took the 7 day cruise. It is nothing like RSSC but it was lots of fun.We met people from all over the world. The boat was only half full and it was fun getting to really know people. We still laugh about the fact that we all knew the same jokes and had similar kid problems to talk about.I LOVED FIJI!

We just returned from the S. Pacific and Fiji in December. We spent 4 days at an island resort called Tokoriki and just loved it. It is a 20 minute seaplane ride from the Sheraton Denaru Resort (where we got a few hours sleep from a 3am arrival). We used a travel agent located in Hawaii who got us a terrific price on air, resort, etc. and who I believe handles Blue Lagoon. If you want further info, just advise.

I can't give you any info on time to travel, but we had perfect weather in Nov-Dec.
