Cindy: Glad to hear your visas (and passports) are almost in your hands. I know I was relieved when I had them in my possession.
FV: I felt the same way as we did the YF, Hep A/B and tetanus all at the same time. Besides achey arms I also got slight flu-like symptoms which I was told is one of the possible side effects so I was not a happy camper for a couple of days but then I am a big baby. :D But I'm all better now and ready to get on with the trip! Brian, on the other hand, did not feel a thing....

Good news Cindy and Frank. We sure want you guys on SAMBA with us! Yep, those shots are not fun. I'm so happy Tom and I still have our shots and visa "stuff" out of the way from our So. America cruise.
Wish we could all be as lucky as Brian and not feel a thing.

Good idea Cindy. That's what we should do too. We're going to Switzerland first before South Africa...we need to pack for such different climates! I dread the packing and dealing with the weight restriction....we're prepared to just pay the excess charge.

Is the excess weight charges from JNB TO CPT?
Oh Well, I know we will never make it under 44lbs so will just have to pay the excess weight charges.

Just to let you all know, many people are jumping ship in CT because of the Brazilian visas. Yeah for SAMBA!!!! I hear that the ship will be down 80 pax for the cruise. Can't wait for you all to get onboard.

Beth:
Really? I know the Visas were a pain a bit and a bit costly, is that really why people are getting off?

Agree Frank.......doesn't make sense to me either. How often will these people have another chance to visit Africa?

We're packing for real! Since we're in Delta Business Elite going over we have pretty liberal weight restrictions (we can each have 3 bags, 70# each)--we just have to worry about getting it all home when we arrive in Fort Lauderdale. We leave for Mumbai on Thursday (really, really early in the morning :( ). Crystal, Beth, Jan, Fred, Jim, Pat et al, we'll see you on the ship, visas in hand, on Saturday. Yippee!!

Actually I believe she means they are jumping ship in Cape Town. I bet lots are staying over and doing safaris. Some could not get visas in time before departure and probably just decided to fly home from Cape Town instead of doing the crossing. A group of guests are having their passports picked up in Richards Bay and the passports are being sent to Cape Town for visas. Again because of problems with the Brazilian visas. I like the idea of lots of room on the ship - sounds good to me.

I'm all for a less than full ship for a change! Eases the pressure on the staff.

FV [/QB] Frank & Marcie, That is what they are telling us. Many got on in Athens and maaybe weren't ready for the full 71 nights. Peggy, Crystal and I came over Delta Business Elite. It sure did help to have that amount of luggage. Yes, coming home from FLL will be trickly. Safe travels, enjoy Mumbai and see you on Saturday.
