The Radisson docs for my upcoming Diamond Med cruise only indicated one formal night, but no info on the others. I thought one formal, three informal, and three more casual would be the norm. When I called RSSC though they said this cruise has one formal, one informal, and the rest country club casual. Can I trust this? I know some of you have had issues with changes in the dress schedule after you got on board.

From recent reports, I would believe what you were told. However, casual vs informal really only impacts men by the requirement for jacket. Given so many men wear jackets frequently, I don't know if you will notice a difference.

I have found that when you get onboard, they do play with the number of nights for each. Women can get by going between informal and ccc. As Marc says, men just need their jackets to dine on informal nights.

Hi Sue - Our Voyager cruise in June was 3 formal, 1 informal & the rest ccc per the documents. The formal nights were all the sea days. There was no difference between the # of days in the materials and the dress codes in the evenings. Enjoy your trip! Cheers, Anne

The only real problem here is IF Radisson sticks to their story on the number of formal nights. This would have the greatest impact if they increase(what to wear?) or decrease (causing you to pack more than is needed). On a recent cruise (I was on it) Radisson "threw in" an additional formal night.; and on another they were reported to have subtracted a formal night, according to docs. All any of us can do is to pack according to the docs, and hope Radisson " Straightens up and flies right" on your cruise, instead of making up rules as they go along as they have done a few times in the past.

Yes this primarily impacts my husband and son as far as how many jackets they have to pack. As you say it doesn't mean that much difference for the women. And yes Beth we are DANCING!!! Bon voyage to you as you will be leaving shortly!

We also got caught in one of those "oops we changed our minds" things. For an October Voyager cruise in the Med, our docs said TWO formal nights. We decided that for two nights it was worth it and brought tux, formal clothes, etc. We boarded the ship to discover there was only ONE formal night. A minor but annoying thing cause for one formal night, we would have dined in suite and cut down on our packing.

I suspect that the high # of CC nights is because the cruise is port intensive. The first and last nights are always CC and the formal is usually the second night(Captain's welcome party). I assume that you're on the Diamond? For a 7 night cruise I'd take a dark suit and 1 sport jacket(blue blazer with 2 or three different trousers).

Doug, yes we are on the Diamond and I like your plan. That way they will be covered either way.
