Just found this great offer . Earn 25,000 skymiles when you purchase Intercontinental Ambassador membership for $150. You also get a free weekend night.

I don't know how valuable Ambassador Status is if you stay at Intercontinental or Holiday Inn hotels (maybe Denise can explain) but the 25,000 miles for $150 is a steal.

Denise, how long is membership good for? One year from date of purchase or will I have to renew sooner? What sort of benefits could I expect at the Beachcomber Intercontinental in Tahiti?

thanks,

Judy:

There is some talk on flyertalk on whether this deal is for Medallions only. That link I posted says nothing about requiring Medallion status. I would print all screens and any confirmation emails for your records just in case.

Don't you also get 25,000 miles for getting their credit card? I joined Delta ff program because I am flying them biz class to Istanbul tomorrow. With both offers and the miles I'll earn, that's enough for a biz class upgrade in the future?

Olivia, 15,000 if you get the platinum card. Then 10,000 miles every year where you charge $25,000. To upgrade with DL overseas, you need to buy at least "M" fare ticket. Worked fine to London (only $100 difference) but sometimes very expensive.

Enjoy your cruise on DABS!

The questions, above, are precisely why I suggest contacting Priority Club to get all these answered accurately.

Even though I work for InterContinental Hotels Group, I would hate to give misinformation, as I don't deal directly with Priority Club.

Read the fine print!!!

Because of my regular trips to Switzerland, I racked up a bunch of miles on Continental. But, alas, a couple hundred short of Elite status.
Then I got a mailing offering me Elite status for a mere $300. The mailing spoke of free upgrades (when avail).
Figuring out how often I was going to travel to Europe in 2004 and how much I enjoy Biz class, well the math worked out!
Until.........
I got the package which clearly stated that Europe flights were not part of the free upgrade offer. Imagine my surprise! This was the very first time anyone in print or voice (and I did speak to a number of people before ordering) ever brought up this limitation.
I demanded a refund & was told that all sales were final. Needless to say, I was less than pleased.
So, I pointed out my situation to various levels of management in a rather lengthy phone call. I got the refund.... but was told - in very serious terms - that I would not be eligible for this offer ever again!
Then the Elite Card arrived in the mail.
Well, since I long lost my original card and my FF mile number is the same, I plan to use this card next week when I fly them. I do like their flights.

Long way to say: read the fine print of any offer.

Doug
