Hi Everyone-

We're leaving for Tahiti exactly one week from today and will be on the PG 11/4 for our 7 day 30th Anniversary cruise. I know that I haven't posted much but I've been at LCT reading almost every day since March. I want to thank everyone who posts here for so generously sharing their experience and knowledge. I plan to bring a journal with me, so hopefully I'll jot down enough about our trip to make an interesting and helpful read when we return.

I've had all of my PG questions answered, but I do have one pr-cruise question. Has anyone been to any of the spas on Moorea? I'd like to get a massage and maybe other treatments to help get over jetlag before the PG. We'll be staying at the IC Moorea, which has the very expensive Helene Spa. I'm wondering if it's worth it. In Jan Prince's Tahiti travel guide she skims over the Helene Spa, not giving a review, but she warmly reviews the more reasonably priced Mandara Spa at the Sheraton. It would be more convienient to use the spa at our hotel, but if the other one is better AND more reasonable?? Anyway, Jan Prince's book has the only reviews that I could find, so if anyone can give me some input it would be greatly appreciated.

I've stayed on Moorea at the Pearl but have never been to a spa. If you don't get an answer to your question here try going to another board that is entirely related to Tahiti travel. It is www.tahiti-explorer.com You will need to join to post a question but that is easy to do. In their bulletin board section (link is center page near the bottom) you would post this question under Moorea-Misc. I know you'll have a wonderful anniversary trip!

Oops - I just went over to Tahiti-explorer and found that you already discovered the site. Hopefully someone will answer soon.

Mrs. R,
We'll be with on the PG a week from Saturday. We leave for Papeete on Halloween for our precruise on Tikehau. We are also sort of celebrating no. 30. Hope to see you on board.

Hi Egret-

We hope to see you on board too, if our docs arrive in time! Have you received yours yet?

I'm starting to panic, just a little. I'll probably break my resolve not to be a pest and call Regent today.

I would phone my TA immediately, or Regent. If your cruise is in one week, that's just too tight!

I agree...considering I just got notified that my docs are in the mail, and my PG cruise isn't for another month!

Does Regent send the Docs to the client or do they send them to the TA? I had gotten the impression from other posters that they're sent directly to the client via DHL shipping. I had intended to call on Monday because the DHL truck didn't stop at my house last week, but it kept getting pushed aside by other matters.

Anyway, I called Regent right after posting this morning and the rep. said that the docs were sent to the TA weeks ago. So I called the TA's office and got someone I had never spoken to before. She said that she'd call Regent right away because they never receive docs there. I've left a couple of voice mails since, but one has called me back yet.

Regent sends the documents to the TA and the TA forwards them to the clients.

Okay, problem pretty much solved.

A nice lady in Regent's document department is emailing me a document which will aid us with pier side check-in just in case our docs don't arrive in time. In the meantime two weeks ago the travel agency mailed our docs to our old address. So I'll have to decide how mad to get about that later, right now I'm just relieved that we still get to go on our cruise!

Mrs R,
So glad you you have that cleared up. I was really worried for you when you mentioned you didn't have your docs. We got ours almost exactly 25 days before we were to leave. Always get great service from Brown and Keene, they checked with me before expressing them to me to make sure someone would be available to sign for them.
Hope we run into you next Saturday!!!
Counting the hours,86.5 hours and counting.

Glad to hear that plan B is in place to assure your PG check-in.

There is a new answer over on Tahiti-Explorer for you regarding the Moorea spas from a gal who just returned.

I found the spa onboard ship wonderful and worth waiting for. The massage technique they are trained in is a combination of Swedish and accupressure and shiatsu.
