We are on an RSSC chartered Varig flight from Miami to Manaus, Brazil next month. This question is for anyone who has flown there. On the country's website they state the following: "Passengers carrying prescription drugs should arrive with a valid prescription issued by a physician and a receipt of purchase issued by the drugstore."

They also state that Rx carrying passengers should go to the "goods to declare" line.

Does anyone know if this is really enforced?

Thanks,

Jim

Anything is possible. We never went up the Amazon, but we had other problems. Triple check (or maybe quadruple check) as to whether you need (or don't need) a shot against yellow fever. We were given the wrong information by the consulate, and had to have them onboard the Mariner. Just a word to check it out so you don't have any problems. Since we came from SF, we did not have to declare medications, etc.

Thanks M,

We've had our yellow fever shots ---- can't get a visa without them. Our TA has been in touch with the Brazilian Gov't on custom regs. We'll be a lot smarter and a lot warmer in a month!

Jim
