Did you guys see this ? Looks like we had a little problem on the high seas. I always wanted to be the captain of a real ship !
Merry Christmas

When we were on the shortened Alaska cruise right after Mush, losing one day and two ports, Regent did it right by having a letter in our stateroom at embarkation stating that we would be given any 7 day cruise of our choice over the next two years at the same cabin level. They also made all drinks free.(this was before all inclusive) Never a negative word was heard from passengers. This was great on Regent's part and I have certainly spread the word. When you figure that they were giving up about 300 cabins over two years it probably didn't impact them too much. There are almost always a few unsold cabins on each trip.

Somehow....I think I might know the lawyer in that story. At least, I know one who would behave like that!

Crystal - me, too! Do you 'spose it's the same lawyer? :D

Sapphire Princess was traveling around the same time we were on PANDA. There was a story in either Shanghai or Beijing about how the Chinese sent 5 immigration officials onboard between Japan and China to clear the many passengers on the ship.

Interesting how different the two voyages worked out. Capt. Phillipe wound up in sick bay for a while. Fortunately, the second typhoon (as reported by those who stayed aboard) was not so bad on Mariner.

Cheers, Anne
