OP Sundvl cruiser Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 444 So. Cal	First, thanks for this site! I have already spent a good part of my day "catching up." Second, I am looking for your expert advice. Which video camera would you recommend? I am looking for a good, small video camera to take on our Baltic cruise. Love our digital camera, but would like to add video to our trips. Recommendations? Masaki cruiser Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 6,244 Hawaii	I'm partial to Canon camcorders (in particular the Optura series) because they're small and light and have good video quality. I have an older Canon Optura 100MC camcorder and am very pleased with it. Sony camcorders with their Carl Zeiss lenses also have a good reputation. Just some ideas ... :) Masaki

Thought I would try posting a thread regarding video cameras. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Miriam

mdchips cruiser Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 82 Colorado Springs, CO	I have had several camcorders over the years. My current one is a digital Sony TRV-20 and I absolutely love it. The video it takes is almost studio quality. The Carl Zeiss lense is very nice. I highly recommend it. An added bonus is it also takes still pictures on a memory stick. The resolution is only 1 MP but the pictures are fairly nice and it is very convenient to have it all in one unit (video and stills). Mike

Personally, don't like the quality enough to bother with it too much (I like using my regular digital camera for this) but it's handy to have when there's nothing else that you have ... Masaki
