Did anyone notice on the latest brochure that Regent is pushing booking now for certain 2011 cruises, because the "prices increase after Dec. 31"? I do realize this will not include all cruises, but they just had a price increase on Oct 1, then started 'free' hotel night October 15, and now another increase on other cruises? How much do they feel everyone will pay?

Every quarter at the end of March, June, September and December during the year they look at pricing and increase prices on those cruises that have filled up. This has been the pattern for at least a year if not two years now.

The best pricing is always the first price out of the box. On a few cruises that have not sold well they have added a "value added" program such as a free pre or post land trip with a "non use" credit. This has always been available to all who are already booked.

Best price is the price they come out with originally and if people want to go on a really full cruise at a later date many do pay a higher price and are just glad to be on the cruise. Seen it a lot.

This does not mean every cruise will go up but some are bound to increase and you never know which ones will be affected.
