Crystal & Julie,

Hope you all have a great cruise on the Voyager next week. After the cold, snowy beginning to December in D.C., I hope for warm, sunny weather, Crystal. Any volcanoes on this cruise?

Enjoy yourself.

Hello All!
Onboard the Voyager and having a marvelous time. It is my first time to sail on the Voyager and it is a marvelous trip. We are in an aft cabin and as I have heard there is indeed some vibration, but not bad, really not bad at all and I slept like a baby last night. We hardly notice it.
Last night we decided to have dinner at La Veranda. With such a short trip you need to space it out. Joe had the tuna and it was supposed to be served Sicilian-style, but he asked for it blackened and as always RSSC was up to the task. I had the beef tenderloin and tiramisu for dessert. Yummy! Since it was the first day and I'm always tired from the travel, we turned in after the show.
We spent most of the day enjoying the sunshine. However, we did make it to the gym this morning (very nice facility) and we did the casino gaming lessons this afternoon. Craps is a very confusing game, but the odds seem good so maybe I will try my hand this evening. It is Joe's favorite game, but even he learned something from the lesson.
Tonight we have reservations at Latitudes and GUESS WHAT!!!, Kenny Smiles is onboard and will be performing tonight. I have seen him many times, but he still makes me laugh!! I ran into Lorraine at the Internet Cafe. She said to send her regards to you Ngaire.
Side note: this is Joe's first time cruising with RSSC and he remarked to me this afternoon that he just can't get over the spaciousness of the ship. He said it seems as if only a handful of people are onboard. When indeed we were told it is a full ship. I just love RSSC!!!!
If you have any questions or want me to check something out for you, then please post your question.

Julie ask Kenny if he will be on for the Panama Canal trip December 27th?? Tell him and Lorraine hello for me. She is really a lovely person if you sit down and talk with her. Dont sit Joe in the front row with that head he will pick on him for sure.

Hello All! Day 3 of my adventures at sea.
Jim, no Kenny is going home for 2-weeks & then he will be on the Navigator in January.
Joanna, no deck runs so far. :) Just the treadmill in the gym. The Fitness Instructor, Tammy, had a total body tone class and it was very good. She made adjustments to the routine to fit everyone's ability.
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha for everyone's "who's Joe". :b: Kidding! He's my boyfriend. He is a super nice guy and you guys would love him. He hit it off with Kenny Smiles and his wife, Lorraine, like gang busters.
For today, we did not spend much time in Cozumel. Personal choice, really as they have done a remarkable recovery from the hurricane. Most of the palm trees are stripped of their leaves, but other than that it is business as usual. Instead, we played some of the games onboard; paddle tennis, ping pong, shuffle board, and even that little plastic man soccer game (don't know what that is called). Also, Joe is a big fan of Rummy 500, so we played a round of that. I just finished Tammy's gym class and am going to head to the cabin to get cleaned up for dinner. Tonight it is the Compass Rose.
Last night, Latitudes, was lovely. A nice, intimate restaurant. I really enjoyed the meal. Joe loved trying some new dishes and loved the tastes, but was hungry again a little later since it was all smaller portions.
For most of the day tomorrow we are at sea, and arrive in Key West in the evening.
Until next time. :)

Thank you everyone for your good wishes. Didn't get a chance to check the board before we left--the day before departure was one misadventure after another. Mom and I had a lovely cruise, though she ran into a lot of physical difficulties. We're probably going to have to pull out of KIWI--it is probably more than she can do.

Met Julie toward the end of the cruise--lovely lady.

Finally got to see the famous Kenny Smiles--he's a hoot (particularly if you're sitting in the balcony, out of harm's way).

I liked the Voyager, and liked the layout of the Penthouse Suite. The butler? Perfectly fine, but doesn't really add anything. I suspect that, on lines of lesser service, the butler does add a lot. But given the quality of RSSC staff, he seems superfluous.

Hi Crystal, Good to hear from you. Yes, size and layout of the Penthouse Suites are nice. Sorry to hear you will be backing out of NZ. I know you really wanted to go. You and Suzanne need to look into the Silver Wind for Nov. 1. Last time I looked, the price was right. Oh, and there are volcanoes!!!!!

Why is it that when you get back from a cruise, the first thing you think is when can I plan to go again? :mecry:
Well, the last couple of days were uneventful, because on Thursday I had an allergic reaction to something and broke out in a rash all over my neck. They don't sell Benadryl in the gift shop, I guess because of the new legislation that prevents you from buying it from the shelf. However, the ship's doctor was able to give me some.
So Wednesday night was my last hoorah, pretty much. We sang karoke that night and it was so much fun!! For the first time ever I won tokens!! Woo-hoo! So I was able to get a logo coffee mug and visor at the end of the voyage.
Thursday night we did go into Key West and listened to a band play for a little while. The Benadryl was making me sleepy though, so we did not stay out late. The band was really good. Don't know if it was the Benadryl or not that made me do it, but I bought two of their CDs. They were called the Carter Brothers and their music was kind of a jazzy bluegrass. Very nice. Here is their website if you want to check them out http://carterbrothersband.com/ .
Friday, our last day, I did not want to get any sun due to the rash, so we had some the best key lime pie at The Blond Giraffe http://www.blondgiraffe.com/ and just tooled around Key West a little bit on one of these scooter things. You operate it like a scooter, but it had three wheels and two seats. So for those ladies that don't want to operate your own scooter and don't like to sit behind on one of the scooters, then this is your ticket. I'll ask Karen to help me post a picture of it. It is so cute. It was $50 every two hours, but you really don't need it longer than that. You can pretty much see the whole island in two hours. :) It was a place at the end of Duval Street called Tropical Rentals 305-294-8136.
I'll close with this quote from the chocolate left on pillow every night.
It is not enough to say I have been there. A voyage is not just a journey. It's a period carved out of time, when the impossible can happen. -Unknown :D

Oh, it was nice to meet you in person, Crystal. It is funny how that works. I looked at her and thought, hmmm... looks like her from what I could tell of the square bit of Avatar. Then, you do the brave, "um, excuse me, but are you Crystal from LCT." hee-hee. You are a lovely lady, too.

Yes, Crystal, We (with Mom & sister, Sharon)are booked on the Silver Wind for my retirement cruise: Lisbon to Las Palmas (Nov. 2 - 11). link The price looks too good to pass up. ... and the Canary Islands have volcanoes!!!!! (shades of Mt. Etna - hee-hee) Hopefully not.

Joanna, Do look into this. The price is right. I've tried to get Suzanne to join us. Haven't heard if she can use her credit on this one, though. The more, the merrier. Looks to be a great cruise to try out Silversea.

Tempting though the itinerary is, the price unfortunately is not right for a single. They are charging a 100% single supplement for this cruise! So much for Silversea's "from 10%" supplement. That's some climb "from" 10%.

Crystal, It is steep. I saw that single supplement. It's most likely because of the 40% discount. See if you can talk with Suzanne. Maybe the two of you can cook up something.

Joanna, Hope you and Tony think about booking this one. What fun we could have!!!!! :app: :pass:
