Does anyone know how many times you can send your passport in to get additional pages added ? I'm concerned ours may start looking like War & Peace novel

Thanks Marc...I think we've already done it twice, guess we'll have to get new passports. Wasn't sure, would prefer to just get new pages.

I have to get a new passport. I do not have two empty pages facing each other for South Africa. Ken has about four with two pages facing each other. We have been on the exact same trips just the way the immigration officers chose to stamp the passports. At least we can get this done now in downtown Dallas. I do not like changing passports it looks so empty when you have to start all over again.

More pages to fill.
Do they let you keep the old one? If not, a shame. The history or our memories.

Oh yes, they do. Problem is, when you leaf through it, the stamps are often so weak you can't tell where you were!
I'm almost ready to get rid of my current one, for no other reason than all the stamps in Arabic from CAMEL always seem to cause increased scruitiny. 5 more years, and one more new set of pages to go, though!

When you get a new passport you can ask for one with extra pages so you don't need the add in pages so soon.

We always asked for extra pages for our passports, but I read recently - and don't remember where - you can no longer get the "super sized" passports. But you can still add extra pages later. Why make it too easy for the "customers."

We just got our new passports and you can not request extra pages. You are correct why make it too easy for the customers. I have to say it was a pretty quick turn around about three weeks and we did not pay extra for the fast service. I am so happy to have the new passports in hand.

I had to renew mine this year. They do return the old one which I like to look at and remember trips. DINGO will probably be my first new stamps!

I just remember when I asked at the Post Office how to add extra pages to my passport....a fellow on the rather long line to buy stamps told me how jealous he was that my biggest problem was that my passport wasn't big enough!
I'll never forget that. We are so blessed with such problems!

Their was a woman on our last cruise who's husband was denied airplane boarding because he didn't have 2 blank pages. it took 9 days for him to catch up. The volcano had a real impact on that time.

When requesting extra pages, include a letter indicating that you are a frequent traveler, and, you are requesting two sets of additions. We just did that and they included two sets of A to X pages, 48 new single pages.

Thanks Marcie for bringing this topic up. I will need to get new pages for next year. I also love to look at my old passports...I am currently on passport #4 (no I am not that old, they used to be valid for only 4 years)! Lynn

I was told I need to have several blank pages, and two facing each other to go to South Africa (not a cruise, sadly). Because we have less than a month, when we return from our cruise in the Baltic, we must use expedited service, which costs $160.00.!! Oh, such problems!!! <img border="0" alt="[beer]" title="" src="graemlins/beer.gif" />

Hillorama, see if you can stop into an Embassy when overseas to get passport pages added. Contact the consular section ahead of time to see if they can arrange an appointment so you can do on the spot. Overseas, I think it is free.

I was looking for something else on the ZVS web site and clicked to see the "add extra pages" section. They say you can get extra pages added if you have "less than 96 pages and have less than 4 blank visa pages".
By the way ZVS charges $75 for the service and I clicked that I could wait 8-10 weeks.

FWIW, we received our extra pages, 48 each, as requested, in three weeks and two days.

It took me about 3 weeks as well - I wish I'd thought to ask for double pages. I should be OK - I only have 2 years left on the document.

Is there much of a cost difference with using ZVS and just sending to State Department, Peggy?

Hey everyone, Get going on anything passport related. Fees are going up July 13. Marcie, the one you asked about, adding pages, will now be $82.00 instead of free!!!!! The form is online, so tomorrow I will be mailing my passport for additional pages that I will need next year.

Thanks Lynn, I don't need this until next year also but from free to $82. They sound like an airline when I started looking at all the new fees.
