Hi, im leaving next friday for the PG and just had a couple of questions.

1. Is the main dining room open seating and is it at a set time?

2. I started packing. I have daytime shorts and little dress cover-ups. Then evening dinner dress clothes. Do i need something more casual for hanging around on ship before dinner? Or is it easier to come back shower and just stay in the dressier dinner apparel?? (Im trying to pack light!) Thanks so much in advance!!!!

Open seating from 7.00 or 7.30 until the time they close for new people (not sure about 9.30 I think). You can come to eat at anytime during those opening hours of the restaurant.

Evenings are still casual on the PG. A nice dress or pants outfit is fine. Nothing very fancy. Personally I dont think there will be many times you need inbetween clothes from the daytime until you change for dinner. Pack light seldom do people use all they take.

Just returned last Sunday. Actually, L'Etoile usually opened at 6:30 PM for dinner. LaVeranda and the Grill opened at 7:00 PM (with reservations). I never wore a tie and usually wore a short-sleeved Island shirt with nice slacks. I took a sports coat a few times, but only used it in case it was unusually cool in the restaurants, which was seldom the case. Gail either wore a nice summery dress or a pants outfit, usually with long sleeves or a matching jacket, again in case it was cool.

YOu will be fine with what you packed..... Make sure you pack quite a few tanks/t-shirts, as it may be humid. I took about 5 pashmina wraps, and wore sleevelss dress or tops with summery skirts. I always wore a wrap, as the air conditioning was typically cool. Most days at sea, i wore work-out clothes to breakfast, did the "work out" thing, changed into the suit/cover up and stayed that way all day until showering for dinner. We even had lunch in La Veranda with the cover up. Oh, it is really nice to sit outside at La Veranda for lunch, and we ordered from the menu sometimes. I would get there fairly early as those outside tables went sort of quickly. After 3 days they automatically brought me a glass of chardonnay. Very nice, but the grill buffet is OK too.
