Regent reduced some fares in the last couple of days, including some cruises in 2010. Check the Regent Web site for some of the new "Special Promotions" shown on the Fare page of the cruise in question. For example, each fare category shown for our Lima-Rio cruise in January 2010 was reduced by $1,000 -- obviously, that represents a higher percentage, the lower the category.

Good news, Eugene. We're booked on the whole trip around South America and it looks like they have the "special promotion" for all three segments on that trip. Hopefully those reductions will be retroactive--that will be a big savings for us.

We are working on these 2010 changes and already have requested adjustments from RSSC and we are waiting for that paperwork to be processed. All 2010 voyages have gone down $1000 per person for voyages over 10 days and $500 per person less than 10 days. On multiple voyages each segment is given the adjustment. These will probably be done way before the 2009 invoices are adjusted. This is a standard adjustment to every cruise and much easier to accomplish so expect to have these out as soon as we get the Paperwork from RSSC.

We are still working all the changes in 2009 as well. PLEASE be patient. There are literally hundreds of invoices to process and we have completed the documentation of all cruises and sent in spreadsheets to RSCC. Now we have to wait for RSSC to change them before we can adjust our data base and get you new invoices. I checked with my office this morning and they confirm only a very small percentage of the adjusted paperwork from RSSC has been received and as paperwork is received we update accordingly.

I cannot imagine how busy RSSC is with all these new adjustements and all the work with the excursions isses as well. This is not a few weeks project this is a massive undertaking.

This is the worst possible time for me to be gone and the girls are working as fast as they can. Again during this time frame if there is anything non urgent please wait before emailing the office.

That's great news!!! No problem with the patience--there's plenty of time before 2010. It's just nice to know the adjustment is coming sometime. :)

Actually, I have Captain MacNeil to thank for TUT/EXODUS. ;)

With excursions included, and the new lower price, this should qualify as a PVS (Ponte Vedra Special). Round up the gang and join us in the Med!

All of the PV gang worried, Mondaes NO exception, about the economy but I can toss out that great suggestion! They ALL so enjoyed meeting the LCT gang. B2B was very special. Still blaming Arlene for the chocolate martini hang overs. I told them to take responsibility for their actions and leave Arlene alone

Wahoo, that latest discount saves us $2,000 on DINGO (aka T-Devil). That will help pay for our post-cruise to Queenstown.

All of these discounts, promotions, add-ons, freebies, sort-of-freebies, and wanna-be-freebies are becoming a bit confusing, although all things considered I am happy to be confused by saving $$$.

By the way, with respect to those 2009 cruises to which "free air" has recently been added, does anyone have an idea whether there will be any "non-use" air credit if we don't use the Regent air? (Prior to the recent addition of "free air" to the Rio-Ft.L. cruise on Voyager in December, we purchased non-ref. biz tickets to Rio and back from Ft.L. They were a great deal, as long as Delta keeps the Atlanta-Rio route on its schedule.)

I won't bother anyone at B&K with that question until they have a chance to get their lovely heads above water and get out all of the revised invoices. I just wondered if anyone had received any info about non-use air credits on the newly-announced deals.

Freddie,

I can't positively answer your question about a credit for "free" air because my 2009 Alaska cruise always had "free" air but, as far as I know, Regent always provides an air credit if you decline their included air package. I'm sure if my assumption is not correct, someone will chime in and correct me. :D

FYI, I took the Sydney to Auckland cruise on Mariner in November 2008 and the air credit was $1500. If you take the "free" air now, Regent adds an amount to your invoice for air taxes, fees, etc. Thus, the true air credit now is the sum of what they call the air credit and the air taxes, etc. that you don't have to pay.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Ngaire

So pleased to have found B&K through this site. Very impressed that you are getting the recently announced discounts for those who've already booked -- the fine print in what I read said the additional savings applied only to new bookings.

Have been telling my friends B&K offers stellar service AND savings!

Keep checking those fares as they seem to be posting them a bit at a time. When this thread first posted I checked our 18 July 2010 Baltic cruise on Voyager...no change. Sometime in the last few days it had the "special" added...now $1000/pp less!

For any of your relatives who are active or
retired military, just found Regent fares for:

VIKING both segments $200 per diem
Nav to Bermuda $200 per diem
Voy last WC Segement (Istanbul to FLL) $200

and there are many cruises at $250 or $300 pp

if you're interested send me a PM and will send you the website of the only agency (Ngaire/Susan W are familiar with this site) consolidator offering these incredible fares

Any idea what average air taxes are going to be? I know they will vary a lot, but let's say east coast US to Europe, or east coast to west coast? I of course travel from YYZ, but don't expect anybody to know that.

I like to lay out my possibilities in a spreadsheet, with costs or at least estimates, and I sure don't want to bother B&K for quotes on all of these things. But if I can get a feel for the normal ballpark, then I'll just throw it in.

It can vary a lot Wendy but I would say an average is about $200 per person and this does vary as much as you would think between international and domestic.

Thanks Ngaire. Safe trip home, eh? We will be glad to have you back. Still being patient about the re-invoicing. BTW, do you happen to know what the no-air rebate might be for the upcoming free air on our Rio - FLL trip? Don't worry if you don't, I'll ask when I get my invoice.
