Ok, after being on this board for I can't remember how long the day of my first Radisson cruise approaches. I've never done this escorted cruise before so I've got some questions.
Do Linda and Ngaire arrange the tours, seating arrangements, etc? There are a lot of tours but I'd rather go where the group is going. How does it work? I'm sort of a newbie at this so any advice would be appreciated.

Chip, I am not sure, but I think you do your own thing. I think they usually arrange dinners together, and a cocktail party (or 2). But as far as the tours, you are on your own.
Editing to say...you could probably organize something as a group with Ngaire...I think you just play that by ear though. Ngaire often does her own thing...i.e. takes a cab etc.

I don't think there is anyone that posts here going on Mariner from Vancouver to Honk Kong.

What we usually do, before the cruise, we all email each other about what excursions we want to take and then just break up into groups. But....that's because there is always a large group of board members on my sailings.
You might have to wait til MINT or 007 to do that since there is no one you know on your sailing. Sometimes we do some ship excursions and sometimes we strike out on our own.

Chip....I think Chocoholic is going on your cruise. I can't remember if she posted in the roll call, you might want to check. Editing to add....here's the link to others cruising with you!

Chip; There's a thread on the cruisecritic board about your cruise and those going.

Saw that thanks. Looks like plenty of people to hook up with. Too bad more board people are not going.

Hey Chip,
You forget me and my hubby. We are going all the way back to L.A. As I recall you were disembarking in Shanghai to visit friends. Is that correct? I'm to lazy to go to the cruise roll call part of the board now.
I do know that Ann and Gary are arriving in October 4th for at least one segment. Thanks for reminding me that I have an email to respond to. Forgive the dangling participle.

This really going to be a great cruise. Just watched a show on crab fishing in Alaska. Beautiful part of the world after we leave Seward. Rough seas though, it could be a wild ride.
Marilyn. What cabin are you in?

Chip:
I've cruised that part of the world twice in late September and found the seas to be no worse than moderate for most of the journey, even fairly calm sometimes. Unless you're a really sensitive sailor I think you'll enjoy it.
