Hi Sandee and Brian, I don't have a favorite bartender on the Navigator (I can tell you on Monday when I get off), but the cosmo is my favorite drink. The STARS Lounge on Deck 6 is a fun place to meet friends, old and new. Love this thread!!!

Haven't been on the Navigator in a couple of years (will be fixing that on Friday), so don't have a favorite bartender yet. But all the RSSC ships keep Macallans on hand, so that's my usual drink---when I'm not joining Beth in the Cosmo pool. The bartender in the Observation Lounge on the Song of Flower used to mix a great Bloody Mary, but I haven't had one of equal quality since the Song sailed off into the sunset. Song Sisters, does anyone remember the O-Lounge's bartender's name?

I've been on Navigator, but really, the staff is constantly changing. So I would have to say my favorite bartender on any ship is TODD, with his cosmo, which I never order except when I am at sea.

have to agree with O. Todd you are the man when it comes to cosmos. They were pretty decent on Navigator

Looking forward to that pool, Crystal. I don't remember the O Lounge's bartenders name, but Zaldy was the bartender in the Disco those last nights on SSS.

I admit I'm a sucker for a good cosmo! Had some nice ones on Navigator last year, but don't know who made them! Mostly in the Navigator Lounge.

Sandee and Brian, my favourite bartender on The Navigator is Pedro. He used to be in the Casino, but last time I was there, he was in charge of the pool bar during the day. He has three brothers who also work for Regent, as bartenders or wine sommalier's. Pedro makes great Cosmos, and always kept a bottle of our favourite wine behind his bar for us. He's a real pet.

Also, Alessandro, who worked the pool bar when Pedro wasn't at it, as well as in the Casino. I don't even gamble, but I would hit the Casino at night just to have a drink with my favourite guys. Say hi to them from Charlene and Wendy, tell them we'll see them in February!

As an aside, Victor, I'm also in Toronto. Perhaps Rosanne and I should have a drink together here, to lament the fact we're not on The Navigator, being served by our favourite bartenders!! Hee Hee.

Charlene, you brought back wonderful memories of our Navigator cruise from May this year...Alessandro and Pedro are the best! Sandee and Brian, ask for a Cham-Cham (pronounced Sham-Sham), which is champagne with Chambord. Alessandro might even think of me if you order it :) Hope he is still on board.

Victor, what a lucky Canadian you are....all those glorious days on The Navigator (and other ships).

We live Kingston Rd/Fallingbrook area, (the street running north of The Toronto Hunt, if you golf!). While we occasionally cruise with our husbands, my friend Wendy and I tend to take annual Caribbean "girls only cruises" without them. Mike and Larry always join us on overseas cruises/trips - but have no interest in the Caribbean. Me - I've got to high tail it out of this land every January or February!!!

Where in the city are you?

Yes Kristin, they're both wonderful. Such soft spoken, gentle souls, aren't they? I can't wait to see them again. Hopefully they're on board in February. If so, I'll have a cham-cham and say Hi from you!!!

Oh, Victor, I miss The Diamond so much....I suppose that's why we both love The Navigator..because so many of our favourite crew moved over. And now, our affections are with The Navigator. Amazing what a difference a good staff will make.

Wish I were on the next cruise with you. If you and Rosanne need a mid-winter break (as every Torontonian does), we're on her February 4th. Maybe we'll see you there - stranger things have happened!!!

Don't know who the bartender was but he was very cute in the Stars Lounge and he made a special drink with Chambourd, Baileys and cream and i think something else. Would get one (or two) every night.

Hello!

Thanks to everyone who participated in my little survey. It appears that cosmos was the winner but I'm planning on trying everything that has been suggested -- probably more than once! The chocolate martini, Suzie, sounds decadent (even Brian said he'd try that one) and, Kristin, the cham-cham is a must try. Charlene, Wendy and Kristin: I will give your regards to Pedro and Alessandro if they are on this sailing.

And, Victor, I (we) look forward to meeting you and Rosann.

Thanks again for all the tips. I'll report back as to my drink "research" findings.

The car picks us up this afternoon at 2 PM to whisk us off to the airport to begin our adventure....

I’m going to start by apologizing profusely for taking so long to follow-up after our cruise last December. I was diagnosed with a severely herniated thoracic disc (T7/T8) just prior to leaving for our trip. I secured the blessing from my doctor to travel as long as I didn’t lift anything heavy (drink glasses were OK) or overdo the activities (lounge chair reclining was good) and knew that when I returned home I’d be dealing with my options to get my back situation resolved. It turns out that in my case surgery is too risky (disc herniated directly onto my spinal cord) so I’ve had many weeks of PT to strengthen my back and learn how to manage the pain. It’s gone very well and my outcome has been good.

Thank you all for sharing your drink recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed trying ALL of the drink suggestions that you made and, while cosmos came out ahead, the rest were very good (chocolate martini – yum!) and I didn’t have a bad drink the entire cruise. Actually, the entire cruise on the Navigator was wonderfully relaxing and just what we needed at the time. So much so that we are booked on her again this coming December.

Again, sorry it took so long to respond back. I will try to do better in the future.

Sandee, sorry to hear about your back troubles but happy the outcome has been good. We're on the Navigator in December too (get on in Cape Town Nov. 21 and get off in FLL on Dec. 18th). What are your dates?

Marcie, We embark in Rio on 12/4. Looks like we might finally get to meet! What are you planning for your overnight in Rio? We are planning on arriving a couple of days early and hiring a private tour guide (need to start working on this) to see Rio due to the safety concerns of the area. Possibly see a samba show. We're really looking forward to this itinerary -- not too port intensive with a good sprinkling of relaxing sea days.

Sandee.....since you've been away you may not have seen this roll call. There are a LOT of us who will be on the Navigator. Some will be on before it arrives in Cape Town. A lot of us are doing a land trip prior to boarding in Cape Town (this land trip is named "GAME) then we get on in Cape Town. This cruise is nick named SAMBA. Some get off in Rio and some of us stay on all way to Ft. Lauderdale. This is the SAMBA roll call. SAMBA/GAME roll call

Would you like me to add you and Brian to the Rio to Fll portion roll call ??

Yes, Please! We are booked in 517. Thank you.

Can't wait to hear about your African safari portion of the trip. That's a trip that is on our short list..... possibly for next year. We're not quite yet retired (almost) so taking two weeks off at a time for us now is a real luxury.
