Hi, everyone. Thanks so much for the helpful feedback in my other posts.

I'm now wondering if there is good snorkeling at the BB motu? The reason I ask is this: if snorkeling is not good, I want to book a snorkeling excursion with a local company. Or if the motu is comparable to/as good as other snorkeling areas on BB, then why bother with going on a tour?

Thanks again for the help.

Hi Funatabi, from what I remember the snorkelling at the Motu was just OK. I love the setting of the Motu and will be going there both days on my new years cruise.

I agree that the snorkeling was nothing special at the Motu in Bora Bora. Further, as mentioned in my PG review (on B&K's site) from our February cruise, the Lagoon Sail and Snorkeling trip that we took from Regent had notable problems. We received an apology and a 40% refund.

The Motu at Bora Bora is pretty basic and while there is some snorkeling there, it is not comparable to the amazing snorkeling at the motu in Ta'ahaa!! I would suggest renting a boat to take you around bora bora. When we were there i found a charter at the docks, where the tender arrives who took us around bora bora on a private boat for 2 hours for $225 USD. He even took us to his private island!! Much less expensive than the $950 excursion offered from the PG. Have fun.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like it might be a good idea to book a local tour and see some other parts of Bora Bora instead of spending 2 days at the same motu.

Dreps, I enjoyed your review. I will be going in FEB 2007, so it will be interesting to see how one year later compares to your experiences.

Thanks again.
