OK fellow cruisers, some help please. We just booked a Silversea cruise R/T Aruba. We were rewarded by Silversea and robbed by Delta for our SkyMiles.
We will fly down the day before the cruise. Any suggestions for a hotel that is near the city center and close enough to the port?
Feel free to answer here or e-mail me directly.
TIA,
Bob & Bonnie :lct:

Bob & Bonnie ~
I'm interested in Aruba hotel recommendations, also. Will be sailing on the Silver Whisper on December 6 and will be going in a day, or maybe 2, early. There is a group of 12 of us on this sailing.
So if anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear about them. (And probably some of the rest of our group will be interested) I / we would for the most part prefer to be on Palm Beach or Eagle Beach.
Thanks

I will be staying at the Renaissance Marriott in Dec for a SS cruise. I am using points. It doesn't sit right on the beach, but is on the ocean. They have free launches that take you to an island for beach time. The island has all needed facilities - drinks, food, etc. This one called for less points that those hotels on Palm Beach. The hotel that is rated #1 in Aruba is the Hyatt. http://marriott.com/property/propertyPage.mi?marshaCode=AUABR

We stayed at the Radisson a couple of times before it was renovated; it was in BAD need of the renovation! But they closed it completely for at least a year, and I've read that it's incredible now. We stayed at the Holiday Inn once; typical Holiday Inn, could have been in downtown Indianapolis except there was a beach and a casino.

The Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort and Casino is probably one of the better hotels on Aruba. There might be a JW Marriott on Aruba, but I'm not sure (if there is, that would probably be better than the Hyatt). Basically, make sure whichever hotel you pick is actually on Palm Beach (that's the best beach area on Aruba). Well, actually, best known beach is more accurate.
