A very happy Thanksgiving, indeed, is in store for the Davis family.
Hope your parents are soon cruising again, restored to better health.
Thanks for keeping us updated.
Cheers, Anne

Just read this thread for the first time. Luke I am SO GLAD to hear your Dad is better and on his way back to the USA. What a stressful situation that must have been for you all. Please give your parents my best and wish your Dad a speedy recovery.

"Today" = "Delay"
After the door closed for our Air France flight from Casablanca to Paris, there was a loud "thud" and I "knew" we would hear bad news. Sure enough, a ground crew vehicle struck the nose wheel and the Casablanca aiport did not have the necessary part to repair the problem.
So, not only did we disembark, we had to reclaim our bags, and submit to Air France's whim as to rebooking. THIS was a time that two parents in wheelchairs, accompanied by a nurse in scrubs, paid off ... evidently they felt pity and expedited our rebooking -- of ourse, "expedited" meant several hours.
We should soon book our 6:30 flight to Paris, arrive at 10:30 pm, overnight in a hotel and start over tomorrow. IF we can just get to Paris I know that we have myriad options.
The flight loads are LIGHT on Thanksgiving Day, so we are optimistic about arriving home for Thanksgiving "Dinner."
As you can imagine, Mother and Dad are drained physically and their adrenaline level is on "E." Thank goodness they have the medical escort (Isa, a nurse in D.C.; he has been AWESOME).
OK, we arrive in Paris at 10:30 .... do I have time for a quick train to the city for some steak frites at our favorite restauant and a glimpse of the sparkling Eiffel Tower? For THAT, my adrenaline will run strong ... heck, I can sleep on the flight tomorrow!

Dear Luke, I've been following this thread with nail biting curiousity and sympathy. Air france is a bitter reminder of previous trials my sister and I have had to endure. My best to you and your parents and for your optomistic outlook. Have fun in Paris! Make lemonaide! <img src="http://smileys.sm...12_2%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif">

Loving the lemonade in Paris, Suzie -- even at Midnight. Our spirits were buoyed when we landed at CDG ... after a world land speed through passport control (those 2 wheelchairs "open doors") and our bags already on the carousel, there were, of course, more issues with Air France. We eventually had Mother, Dad, and Isa's boarding passes for tomorrow but that took 45 minutes!
However, the 10 minute walk to the Sheraton (inside terminal 2!) evoked the final sigh of relief. 20 hours after our wake-up call this morning we were checked in (and I am online).
No weather problems are on tomorrow's horizon. My only concern is a very tight connection for Mother, Dad, and Isa in Atlanta .... I'm on a direct flight to DFW.
It's November 27 here .... so Happy Thanksgiving from Paris!
Luke
