Wow, Seg 2 is over and I didn't even tell you how great seg.1 went.... I am the worlds worst writer, so I'll keep this short. Our Stewardess was the best ever , we had cabin 645. mid ship, never any motion(of course the seg. had very calm seas),, The food was good, has been better, this was our third cruise with Dana and Jamie, we really like them-nothing fake about them just a real down to earth couple. We loved all the sea days, others didn't. It was wonderful to meet Tom and Marci...... The ship had a beginners bridge class, you would have to be on the full world cruise, but got some of the basics.. The ports were fine with us, we've been to Tahiti several time, and love it there, Bay of Islands was so beautiful in New Zealand. When we left the ship in Auckland, we spent 9-wonderful days driving around the north island.. We stayed two nights at the Bay of Islands, and wish we had stayed there at least a week... While driving(I didn't) in New Zealand , I would see somthing beautiful and tell Dennis to look, but I don't think he ever took his eyes off the road. So next trip to New Zealand, I think will have to be a bus tour, But I really have to hand it to my hubby, he really did a good job driving. I wouldn't(and didn't) have the nerve. All in all our 30 days was great, it's just that long trip home, plus catching a cold, has had me finding it very hard catching back-up with the real world. We booked another cruise while onboard, jujst the cheapest cruise, but as soon as we decide on somthing , we will switch it to that booking. too bad they don't so the open bookings while onboard anymore. :) :) :)
P.S. Marci, wish I were still onboard.....

Did you go to Rotorua and Taupo?. I had an email from TAPA who used to be a head waiter on the Voyager. (for those who saw him he did the Maori haka in the final farewell from the crew). He worked in Latitudes and Compass Rose. He said he saw some people with Voyager tee shirts on and went and spoke with them. Was that you???

Sandy - thanks for sharing your experiences with us. We also need to take the time to go to NZ and get much better acquainted. Cheers, Anne

Sandy,
Sounds like it was wonderful. You must be having a tough time adjusting to being home. No one to pamper you. :(
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Best prescription for trip withdrawal? Time to figure out your next one and start planning away. :)
Welcome Home!

Ngaire, Yes, we saw Tapa in Roratora, he happened to see Dennis wearing a Voyager tee-shirt, he asked us if we would like to view a new home, the owners of the Hotel had built, to lease out. What a beautiful place, if you ever put a group together to go there we will be game for it. What a nice guy, we had meet him last year on the Voyager, but I don't think he remembered us, but what nice things he had to say about you.... We sure live in a small world, it was so surprizing just running into him like that..... :) :) :)

TAPA is a really nice guy. He has emailed me about this place it looks fantastic. It is new so there is not really a good web site yet. He sent me an attachment that shows it well but I cant show it here. Only problem is that it only hold 10 people so not very large. http://www.tourism.net.nz/new-zeala...ccommodation/rotorua/okareka-lake-house/ When he emailed me and told me he had met some passengers from the Voyager and they knew me I could not believe what a small world it is. Of 700 passengers he met an LCT member. Small small world.

Sandy, thank you for your report. I love the way you are able to make your points so easily. I tend to go on and on and I envy your style. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. My hats off to your husband for driving on the "wrong" side :D It scared me to even be the passenger in our buses. I kept forgetting which side was correct and thought we were heading for a crash! The funniest time was when we were stopped at a light and I saw this young child driving. Then, of course, realized he was the passenger :D
Loved the very small world story with TAPA!!
30 days is definitely enough to make it very hard to get back into the real world. Good luck!! :) :)
