Are posting topics kept ? From Feb. and March 2003, there were several discussions on "Yellow fever shots".

Neville, on the main page of this topic, look up in the semi-upper right, you'll see "show topics from" and the default is 100 days. Pick "show all topics" and it will show you everything that's ever been posted on LCT.

lct didn't begin until 2004? At least that is when I registered! Neviboy, that discussion was on cc as I remember if it was 2003. Don't think you can go that far back on that board.

Neville, even if you find the post, can you trust information from 2003? Laws change, countries change, you need the latest information.

Neville, Kathy and I are on this year's Discovery cruise. I have made the assumption that visas required for countries visited after countries that may require yellow fever shots (e.g. Brazil), will require yellow fever inoculation proof in order to obtain a visa. Consequently we got our yellow fever shots last week. There is a risk of severe complications 2 - 8 days afterward. Our travel immunization person says that for persons over 60, this occurs once per 70,000 inoculations. For further info go to https://www.travax.com/reportgen/report.asp where you will find all the data for each country.

Pat & I were on the 08 Discovery cruise and the only place that required yellow fever, at the start, was Brazil. At the last minute Richards Bay required it because we had been near an area with a suspected outbreak of yellow fever. Those who joined after Brazil and who didn't have the shot or their card were required to get one from the ship's doctor's office - no exceptions. Some who had a valid card but didn't bring it with them were able to get a fax copy to satisfy the requirement. Those who couldn't get a copy sent, including one couple who had a shot less than a year before, had to get another one. The only option was to debark in Kenya and rejoin the ship later at their own expense. We've never had a reaction to the shot and always carry our cards "just in case." Jim
