Tom and I have been thinking about doing a USA riverboat cruise. Yesterday I received a brochure from a company "American Queen Steamboat Company". Apparently they have 4 riverboats in their fleet. It's all inclusive cruise line, including open bars, shore excursions, live entertainment, and 1 night pre hotel stay with ground transportation from what I've read. There's riverboat trips from New Orleans, Memphis, St. Louis , Nashville, Louisville and other locations .
The website is AQSC.com

We're open to suggestions. Viking also has USA riverboats, maybe a better fit ?

We'd love to chose one with other LCTers.

We're interested! Conflicts last week of October, first two weeks of November otherwise looks like the rest of our plans are cancelled.

This is the itinerary that Tom likes: Viking, almost sold OUT ! Yikes, not even available till June 24, 2023 !! (15 days from St. Paul to New Orleans). Open to suggestions ! Maybe a different riverboat ?

We would be interested in one of these. I was born in New Orleans & lived in St. Louis so always love to visit my old stompin’ grounds!

There's also limited availability on American Queen Steamboat Company for 2021 (some of the dates interfere with BOOTS though). website: www.AQSC.com

OK, we're booked on American Cruise Line (ship is the JAZZ) for September 26, 2021 to October 3, 2021 (7 Nights) Mississippi river cruise from Memphis to New Orleans. Make sure you book through Hunter at Keene Luxury Travel since they're registered and he's booked this cruise line before. These are the details https://www.americancruiselines.com/cruises/mississippi-river-cruises/lower-mississippi-river-cruise

This is an all inclusive , a new riverboat that is booking quickly! It's a "Music Cruise" with live entertainment nightly featuring live music from the region(s). It does include daily excursions (some may have an extra charge like Regent does). It includes 1 free night "Pre-cruise" at the Graceland Guest Suites. (This does NOT interfere with BOOTS in Dallas Sept. 10/11, 2021.)

We're excited to go on our first USA riverboat cruise.

Hunter is handling this group. Email him at - hunter@keenetravel.com If you normally work with one of the other agents still contact Hunter for the booking as he is handling it at this stage. But once booked you will then work with your regular KLT agent.

He got a SPECIAL SAVINGS for the group and is familiar with the ships and said the JAZZ is brand new and beautiful. There are only 13 cabins left on the ship in total. He could only hold 7 cabins in the group and 4 are gone already so although I do not normally post things like this on the LCT I think this is the best thing to do in this instance. Be nice to get a group on LCT'ers on board. Once the 7 cabins are gone in the group he can then add additional cabins to the group as long as there is space left.

I would like to join this BUT I am committed to another trip at the same time. I think this will be a lot of fun.

I wonder if either the Endeavour or Jazz will actually sail.

We are in 218. I can see guest forms to fill out and I can see list of excursions including which ones are complimentary but I can't figure out the costs of the other excursions nor how to book excursions; has anyone figured out the excursions?

Yes, I'm in 320--guess I'm the only one on deck 3, but Hunter got me a single room and saved me a bunch of $. I'm really looking forward to this trip. I thought it would be 2022 before I got to travel plus I love the idea of cruising at home:-).

So happy you're with us Peggy. I think a single is the type cabin Olivia is looking for.

Has anyone looked at/booked excursions yet? Looks like at least one free one in each port but additional fee ones, too.

We have never been to Memphis so I do think we will book the pre cruise Graceland excursion.

It took me awhile to find the regular excursions but I don’t see how to book or sign up for any of them. Am I missing something?

That sounds like fun Helen. Maybe we'll join you. Share any info you find.

I was born in Memphis in a tiny 2 BR, 1 BA home (youngest of 3 kids, my crib was in the living room) but moved to Tulsa when I was 2 so I have no memory at all. I'd like to correspond with the current owners and maybe get to meet them and see where I lived my first 2 years. On Zillow the house looks exactly the same as my parent's photos.

One day to tour all the Elvis exhibits and one day downtown would be good. You might consider staying downtown (e.g., Peabody for the ducks) and spend the night cruising Beale Street and then move over to Graceland for included night. There are a few more sights in Memphis (e.g., Marcie's birthplace) but nothing really spectacular. You can see where MLK was shot and there are some old cemeteries where we spent a lot of time.

LOL, you made me laugh Marc. Trust me, the tiny home where I was born wouldn't be on any list of Memphis sites. If you blink you'd miss it.
I'll have to re-read, don't we get 1 free night somewhere...Graceland hotel ? I haven't looked into any of these things yet. Guessing we'll stay in Memphis 2 nights ?, don't want to change hotels.

I called American Cruise Lines yesterday to check on any updates. They confirmed that the Jazz Mississippi river cruise from Memphis to New Orleans Sepember 26 - October 3 is a GO.
