NOT good...the dreaded "Wait List" is showing up for all categories on our Oct. 22nd LA to LA on the Mariner. We're 3 for 3 on cancelled cruises we had booked.

Looks like that is the case for all the ships through November. Looks like another extension of the suspension of sailing. Dang. That’s two more cancelled for us if true.

While it may be true for some of the 100% wait listed cruises, it may not be true for all. Keep in mind that the ships are probably not going out at full capacity, and therefore will "fill up" faster.

I hope that is the case. I was thinking that (reduced capacity) too yesterday when I was looking at some of these, but it seems pretty odd that they all went to “Wait List” overnight For sailings through November and none that I saw were totally waitlisted in December.

I do think that some of the European cruises for November may be cancelled, and that the Caribbean itineraries have a better chance of sailing. Fingers crossed, as I am on one of the November Caribbean trips. :)

Teach you all the official and easiest way to name the ship and sailing date. Ships = SPL, EXP, VOY, MAR, NAV - Year = 2020, Month =11, date = 28 = SPL201128.

I had to get my contracts in place for approval for the sailing. The SPL201207 sailing I got a cabin right away. But the SPL201128 they could not give me a cabin until someone cancelled as it was a CAPACITY SITUATION, I finally got a cabin on the SPL201128 and have to change cabins between cruises now. No biggie I have done it many times.

So there are capacity controlled sailing in play.

Thanks Ngaire. I’m especially glad to hear you say that about SPL201128, because we are looking forward to joining you on that one. It just seems odd that every Regent Cruise with a departure date in October or November of 2020 is listed as “Wait List” in every category and as soon as you go to December departures things are pretty wide open.

Most of the November wait listed sailings are that way as they plan on cancelling and do not want anymore reservations made. Doing these in batches I truly understand. The complexity of the whole mass cancellation situation is pretty overwhelming. But some are truly a capacity situation. Pretty easy to figure out really, Europe or cruises in far off destinations when the ship is docked in the US may not happen. But Mexico and the Caribbean may sail. There is no doubt that the SPL201128 is a capacity situation but that does not mean it will sail for sure. But i certainly hope so. We need that vaccine to start getting back to normal. Looking forward to sailing with you Jim. Nice group has developed on this sailing. people I am really looking forward to seeing again.
