Much to my surprise, excursions for ROME are already available for booking on the Regent website. Ngaire suggested they may have opened them early since the ship is booked so solidly. I originally thought they’d be opening 180 days ahead on December 7. There are some nice choices, including some small group excursions for those who might be interested.

Shouldn't those who are Silver and above been able to book excursions 240 days in advance (October 8) regardless of their suite category? Have the rules for online booking changed?

I am sure someone can answer this better than I can, but The Regent website states that those booked in concierge suites can select excursions at 240 days, not Silver and above. Bert and I have been Gold for some time, but even on STUPA, the excursions were available at 180 days. The website had listed the excursions as available October 8 at 240 days, but I assumed it was an error. It always pays to check.
On another topic, anyone have experience with the culinary arts offerings on Explorer? We were thinking that might be a nice thing to try on a sea day.

Mitch, in addition to what the website says, one of the society benefits for Silver and above is: “Priority online shore excursion reservations.†So Silver and above also get online reservation availability at the 240 day mark. See you on STUPA. We leave tomorrow.

Mitch we did the cooking class. REALLY enjoyed it but they are popular so as soon as you get aboard try to book a class.
Only issue is you stand for the entire time during the class so if standing in one place is not great for you then it is not the best activity. With cooking and demonstrations you do move around but no sitting during that period of time.

We (me and Jerry) were able to book excursions on Oct 8. I didn’t realize that was not everyone’s date until my sister Barbara said she was not able to book. Barbara and I were able to sign up for cooking classes back in September. I have not done this on Regent but I have on Oceania and enjoyed it. Mitch, we are signed up for Epicurean explorers on June 7, the Art of Pasta on the 13 th and Sensuous Spain in the 14th. Join us, it’ll be fun (Bon voyage, Dave) ———————- Helen
