Hello friends! I have gone for 3 cruise trips in the past, all of them in very big ships that carry thousands of passengers with all sorts of luxury facilities available. For the first time I am going for a small ship cruising from Boston to Montreal on a 2 week adventure cruise through canals & rivers on a trip conducted by Blount small ship adventures. The ships name is Grand Caribe. As it is a small ship adventure I am not expecting luxury facilities as I get from bigger ships, but expecting a much different travel experience. The route is not something similar to any cruise I have gone for before which means I think I am in for an entirely different experience. What do you guys think about it? Does anyone have any experience with similar small ship adventures?

I do like small ships my favorite ever was The Song Of Flower - 180 people.

Also done a lot of river cruises.

It is a different experience but I would take that over a ship that carries thousands of passengers any day.

I like a midsize ship best, small enough to be intimate, but large enough to have plenty of space and not feel cramped.

Stephills, your trip sounds like a wonderful adventure. For smaller ships I've done only the Song of Flower -- with Ngaire, my favorite small ship ever -- and a river cruise on the Danube, and both of those would be different from your trip. Report back on your travels!
