This has to do with a new fuel system - I think. I wonder if the un-named ship will be the Voyager or the mariner since they are both going into dry dock.

This is about Oceania.

And Prestige new-builds.

>>As earlier reported, the Regent newbuilds would be built on the same platform as the Oceania-class ships, with identical technical spaces (from Deck 4 down) but larger accommodations (450 or fewer, versus 629 for Oceania).<<

This is from the 3rd article. I'm confused - does the 450 relate to the number of cabins? I thought from past discussions the new ship was going to have more/larger cabins, not fewer/larger ones.

Anyone remember what was said on cruise this Spring?

Since Oceania's Mariner is listed as 1,260 berths, I would think that the 629 refers to cabins.

Thus the Regent 450 would refer to cabins. At 2 berths per cabin that would equal 900 folks at 2 per cabin. But previous Regent statements said there would be some single cabins. Thus, that would put pax capacity in the 800-850 range of previous statements. And yes, Regent reportedly has said that the standard double suites would be larger and the single suites about the same size as Voyagers standard cabins.

Interesting Peggy. Oceania sure is puting a lot of thought into the build of their new ship "Marina". I hope Regent is doing the same.

It appears to me from the second article that the schedule for the new ship ha slipped, with the order late this year for 2012 delivery. there also seems to be a new caveat: If financing can be arranged. Has the current economic situation affected Apollo's ability to finance ths ship?
