Greetings from the Voyager!

Wanted to report in that The Voyager has lived up to all expectations. She looks wonderful, crew is delightful and fantastic food as always. We love our cabin "651". It is such a quiet deck with an exceptionally wide hallway. It seems the perfect location to me. I would say there are about 50% Brits out of 575 onboard - that seems a bit unusual, but everyone is very nice.

Mark Conroy and Rose Clarke have been onboard and it was interesting to get to visit with him. We spend about an hour getting an update on all the improvements to be made to the Voyager and Marriner during dry dock. 20 mil on each - it sounded as if everything was being replaced from crystal to upholdstery. New pool bar setup and new coffee corner. All the pool furniture was replaced overnight and it's very good looking and classy. All that plastic on the decks will go next.

It has been a wonderful cruise and the weather after a drizzly start in Monte Carlo has been perfect. Everyone can eat outside and lay on the deck which I hadn't counted on. 2 nights in Barcelona was great and I think Menorca is my favorite Med island. Quaint, unspoiled and just beautiful. We had a delightful organ concert (complmentary) last night in the gorgeous Majjorca Cathedral -- very special. How we all got up those steps was a miracle but where there's a will there's a way. Rose Clarke was the hostess and she is so charming. Our cruise director is Jamie Logan and his wife Dana. We actually had a wedding aboard with the lead singer Heather and the Executive Chef - how's that for a news flash.

What a Great Cruise --

Jan & Charles

Jan, thanks for checking in! Your cruise sounds perfect so far! I haven't been on the Voyager for a few years and would love to see it after the updates you have mentioned. I wonder what the new pool bar will be like?

I have always liked the Voyager pool bar
location. Nice to be able to sit there and
look at the ocean go by.
Wish the Mariner pool bar was like that. :pass:

Great to hear from you, Jan - we are a little "home"sick after having to leave the Voyager a couple weeks ago. What a fabulous ship. And the updates sound terrific! Enjoy every minute -

Jan, the Voyager seems to be as wonderful as ever and I hope you continue to enjoy your cruise. I am curious----is the executive chef who got married Mike Romhild---or is it someone else? Have a great cruise.

Jan-

I would love to hear more about Menorca. We are sailing next Sept and it will be one of our ports - it's the reason I chose the cruise. My family is originally from Menorca and sailed to America in 1768 to settle in St. Augustine. We plan on renting a car and seeing the island on our own - I'd love to hear about what you did.

Jan, thanks for the great update on the Voyager. That is the same suite number we booked for December. I was on a higher deck last time but thought Todd would like this location.

Everything sounds great, and I am looking forward to seeing the changes.

Jan,

I hear that the furniture in the "dining room and lounge" (don't know which one) has been changed. Can you give us an update?

Thanks . . .Peggy

Home safe and sound and it was a wonderful trip. As we disembarked in Rome the furniture from some of the restuarants was being unloaded so I guess the new had arrived. The entire dry dock project was to be accomplished in 10 days with 24 hr. day. Amazing.

Menorca-- Charles did the bike tour and he thought it was the best tour he had ever gone on. It seems to me there was an Avis? car rental or just a generic on the front street just to the left of where we docked. We rented cars twice and it worked. I just walked in the town and shopped but it would be a great island to rent a car. The "Soller" train out of Palma was also a good way to see some countryside.
Have fun - it's beautiful.

Jan,

Glad your trip was terrific and thanks for the update . . . It's always amazing how much the wonderful staff - plus the extra workmen - can get done during dry dock.
