Mozambique visa $169. We are in port for eight hours. No decent tours. Seems like a big waste of money. Grumble Grumble

That stinks. Maputo could be easily missed. I'd rather spend more time in Madagascar.

It is like Cambodia....even if you don't get off the ship you still have the opportunity of paying for the expensive visa.

We've been there once, probably my least favorite port stop. We had a Regent shuttle bus that took us to a downtownish street. The bus parked exactly where a 100% exposed filthy man was laying on a grass knoll with only a poncho on which was up around his neck. It was NOT a pretty site but certainly memorable, enough so I took a picture out my window.
Most of us didn't even get off the bus.
