Our fishing village excursion disappeared also. I've gotten a little leery of the beach excursions offered (no matter where they are)--unless you're the first one there, they never have enough lounge chairs...or shade. In this case, they even say there are no lounge chairs and you'd be stuck there for three hours. I think I'll wait a while before I book anything else to see if they add anything. We also "lost" our tour in Fujairah (East coast tour). Very often they add things closer to the cruise or even after you get on the ship. If worse comes to worse the little town, Male, is very walkable.

If the $179 tour has no chairs or shade I'm cancelling it. That's just crazy!

haha, Ted, you are funny. An umbrella with no pole to pitch in the ground, and me with nothing to lean back on. So a ramrod old lady sitting at the beach on a towel, with a golf umbrella in her hand. what a picture. cheer And what about the "refreshments" thing?

Truth is, I know nothing about this area, or what difficulties Regent encountered to cancel the Guhli tour. All I knew is that these are some of the most beautiful areas of the world in terms of scenery, and I still look forward to enjoying the entire cruise, beach chair or not....because I've never been there.

BUT, I think it may be time to look around for some nice private thing.

Lauri, read the description, that's what it says. There must be something to differentiate it from the other place, I just can't figure out what it is. It is described as a "resort island", not sure what that means, but there has to be a difference between the two.

I would call and ask the difference

One difference between the two beach excursions is the type of boat they use to get you there. The $179 tour uses a motorized boat which may mean the island beach is further away from where we dock. The other tour says there's a dhoni boat--not sure what that is, but it's likely a rowboat with a sail. Either way, I'm with Olivia--sitting on a towel in the sand doesn't sound very interesting -- or comfortable.

I was pretty sure I would never book a beach excursion for $179 - I looked up my original shore excursion receipt and was right. I booked the Kuda Bandos excursion for $89. Somehow I've been moved to the Dhonveli excursion. My off-road vehicle excursion in Abu Dhabi has disappeared too.

Hmm, looks like they're playing musical chairs with the excursions. Or, as Forest Gump would say, the excursions are like a box of chocolates -- you never know what you're going to get smiles

So Kuda Bandos was $89 and is now free? But they moved me from the Ghuli fishing village to Dhonveli and the price went from free to $179? This is very strange and rather disturbing.

Andrea, there is an off-road trip in the next port that I'm booked on. Says it is sold out now, but maybe a spot will open.

Ted, so glad you are with us! Andrea, I'll have chicken. Marcie and I getting off a big ship tomorrow in Alaska. We had fun with our families, and her grandson and my granddaughter will be married in about a year. They are now 6 and 8.

In a few years they may wed legally in some unnamed states!

What a CUTE COUPLE!

HaHa...we had the BEST time on our 3 generations' cruise to Alaska.

Olivia's adorable 6 year old Lillie definitely had a crush on my 8 year old Nick and she definitely wasn't shy about making it known, even calling him her boyfriend. They are both so cute, even planning a future play date. Yet to be determined whom is going to travel the 2,500 miles.
Guess they have 20 years to figure it all out.

Isn't young love grand. Just like my grandson and Ralph's grand daughter on the family safari. Absolutely precious.
