Just booked an US Airways flight using the companion ticket that came with the credit card. ($99 ticket + fees, taxes etc)
I MUST mail (w/ postmark) my certificate tomorrow. or my deal won't be accepted.
I can & will do that, but I just have to wonder how many miss the deadline & get socked with extra costs. Lord knows, I am sloppy at times. (& not in a good way!)
The nickel & dining of the airlines is just so very bad.

That's outrageous Doug! I get those every year but its been years since I have used one. Even Delta has there companion tickets with codes you can enter online.

I agree about the nickel & diming with the airlines, interesting to see how the AA/USAIR merger pan out.

The "best" part of the Frontier Airline charge for carry-on bags (for the over-head. Stuff at your feet is still free.) is that they call is a customer enhancement! George Orwell would love it!

Amazing: The airlines charge for checked bags, so (surprise!) people try to carry on more stuff. Then the overhead bins get filled quickly (Surprise!).
So now, bin space, early boarding (to score some bin space) & checked bags become a perk or yet another source of funds.

*sigh* I can remember when flying was exciting & fun.

But when ya gotta get 'there" & "there" is too far to drive, they got us.

When Frontier was Midwest, out of Milwaukee, it was the best of the best. Even without the cookies.

I have a good one re us air. I booked coach in April for oct AMA cruise. I always use miles to upgrade. No more. I called every two weeks to see when availability would open up, kept being told not yet. Then, after two weeks again, all available upgrades were gone! Next day, I checked again and the whole business class section. N was full. Every time I checked, I actually talked to a person! Then there rules have changed in the two years, so now, on USAir, upgrades are now per segment, not by trip. So to get to Budapest, it takes three segments, and I would have had to upgrade three segments in each direction !! How ridiculous is that..
The good news is I had bought a fully refundable ticket, so I f
Didn't lose anything, confirmed with Delta that the fully honor Orbitz rates, and am now fully booked in business class (cash) for only $200 more than USAir using miles and money to upgrade!,,,
