For several years, I have monitored LCT, and along the way, have made a few modest contributions. I have found it to have great value since Regent is our cruise line of choice. The participants are bright, well travelled, sensitive and have a great collective sense of humor. We have looked at all the planned escorted tours and have not been able to identify one that combines timing and destination that works for us. That's too bad because we feel that we know many of you even though we have not met.
One nagging question keeps popping up! Can someone please tell me what is meant by "Pooch"?

POOCH is simply an easy card game that you can learn very quickly. Since it is about 80% luck and 20% skill different people win all the time and that makes it fun. Purely a social activity not a serious game, just a lot of laughs.
Wonderful activity on sea days!
Hope one day you find an escorted cruise that meets your criteria.
As you are a lover of wild dogs, I thought would add that of the approximately 90 people who went to South Africa in the last 3 months with ROAR and GAME, well over half of them saw wild dogs. Ken and I were not among the lucky people to have this sighting.

Thanks for the explanation - I especially like the part about luck being more important than skill!
I followed the recent safari reports, turning green in the process - there were some great sightings. The dunes outside of Sousevlei are other-worldly. I have already asked our safari guide to add Birkenhead House to our '09 itinerary.
Enjoy your crossing.
