Someof you know my dad from 007 cruise. He fell in the yard and broke his hip. He was lucky - a neighbor walked by not too long after and saw him and called 911. He's now had surgery but is mad as a wet hen about have to go into assisted living for rehab. Any positive thoughts would be appreciated!

Well we were able to take Candy (his Irish Setter) to visit yesterday. Brightened both of their days!

I had hip replacement 8 years ago and a year later I was sliding down an icy hill in Antarctica.
The good news is I didn't have to go to rehab but did physical therapy at home and followed directions religiously and hip has been fine. I came home on a walker and two weeks later I was using snow thrower to clear driveway - just like walker but noisier!
The bettter news is when I average my age and age of hip I'm considerably younger!
Hope your dad gets better soon!

Thanks for all the good wishes. In typical dad fashion he is not to be awakened until 6:30 and he can have a scotch (it's on his orders now) before dinner. His house will need major work prior to him being able to come home, but we're hopeful that will be in the next month or so.
