Mark and I are deposited for a GTY!

Not sure about the pre/post trip as I have been to the Taj as well as Chiang Mai and Angkor. They would all be new to Mark, so we'll see.

This trip is shaping up to be comprised of a fantastic group.

Well, we are thinking we are staying put...... :( it is so difficult to re do this air, we almost can't face it. We really would like to see Dubai as well, and that is where our trip ends. We are doing the Andkor for 4 days and a few extra days in Singapore....so much planning. VERY disappointed, but I think it is pretty locked and loaded.

We will miss you, Cindy...it won't be the same, but understand your situation.

Wow! Blink & I'm signed up for another trip with a fantastic group of friends! (I should blink more often!)

Judy: You & John met Marc & Arlene on VOF. I remember you two shopping for crosses at a market (I think it was Malta), the slow to deliver glass store and, of course, Ken's ring holder. What a fun trip that was.... and so early in the development of LCT. Look what this has become.
April 2013 and we are all getting excited about the trip AND being together!!!!!!

Not everyone booked with Ngaire is on the roll call or even on LCT. I think she said there were 58 booked and this was a few days before end of CANADA. Whatever the final count, this will be a wonderful group on a wonderful cruise.

This will be a wonderful cruise. Marcie: I am so happy you and Tom signed up - he did not seem all that interested in Boston! We will probably go to Chiang Mai as we've been to the Taj already and we'll be visiting Angkor later this month. Our friends find it difficult to comprehend that we're already planning our 2013 vacations..............

Chiang Mai is our favorite place in Thailand. It would be an excellent choice (IMNSHO)for a pre-cruise adventure (particularly in view of the fact that we will all be together in a couple of weeks for 5 days in Siem Reap and the Angkorian temples).

Please add Karen & Tom. We'll be in #703. Hopefully we'll be doing the Taj Mahal trip too.

Please also add Birgit and Ron in cabin #743. We will be on the Taj Mahal post-cruise trip as well.

It looks like they've changed the itinerary for the post-cruise trip to the Taj Mahal--now there's only one chance to see the Taj Mahal and that's at sunrise--so much for sleeping in that day. It's also the same day we drive to Delhi and fly home late that night. Get the Red Bull ready, it'll be a looooong day.

Thanks Peggy. I guess Regent finally recognized what someone posted above that it was closed on Friday -- even for Regent. When I called, the representative assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. I should have known better.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to go close to the Taj even if it is closed to take exterior photos the day we arrive in Agra? For example, what if it is a beautiful afternoon, and we want to take advantage of it, and possibly take sunset photos?

Funny thing is, I was just typing the itinerary up earlier today.

About.com says the Mehtab Bagh (gardens) across the river from the Taj is a great place to take pictures. /the reason the Taj is closed on Friday is that it is prayer day.
The spa at the hotel is suppose to be one of the most glamourous in India.

Thanks for the further information. I assume that we will be relatively near the Taj at the ITC Mughal Hotel because it says that there is a good view of the "wonder" from the roof terrace.

I just think it is a bummer that as usual the LCT people were ahead of Regent on this, even when I asked about it.

I'll be happy as long as we can get somewhere easily to take good photos of the Taj in the afternoon after lunch -- in addition to the next morning. The excursion to the Taj was one of the big draws for us for this trip.
