Lets start a new thread on this subject.

Some will want the Mariner
A crossing is a crossing and what you wanted.

Some will not want the Mariner
Over thanksgiving
$300 more per person H - D
No H or G showing available.

We need to see what the new cruise offers on the Voyager from Barcelona - the itinerary and cost should be out on Monday.

Ken and I are open to escorting whatever the majority of you want to do.

Again depending on peoples wishes you all know I will do what I can to accommodate everyone.

Ngaire, Are you saying that there will still be a cruise on the Voyager from Barcelona? We are booked on the Safaga to Barcelona segment so the Mariner crossing will not work for us. Thank you.

Hope it will include the same % ss. I know this only effects a very few but it's a huge consideration for those of us who have to pay it. This was my 3rd attempt to see Morocco. I don't think I will try again.

Why was transatlantic cancelled? Will ship cross Atlantic without passengers or has it been chartered?

Disappointed, but as Ngaire says, a crossing is a crossing.

Voyager had a couple of ports we'd never been to, but Mariner has some old favorites.

Bad news is early notice gives us more time to pout.

Good news is it wasn't cancelled when we arrived in Barcelona.

I will not be gone over Thanksgiving.

Loooking forward to the Voyager option. I also would like to do Morocco. I am also sensitive to the SS supplement.

Carman - There will be a cruise on the Voyager from Barcelona, I understand that it will be announced on Monday.

Betty - Hopefully we will find out on Monday about the single supplement.

Marc - The ship is not chartered a new cruise departing from BCN will be announced on Monday.
My guess is NO crossing and that she will stay in Europe and then travel down to where the weather is good for Dec - May cruises. Might be some nice interesting itineraries on offer in 2012. THIS IS ONLY A GUESS ON MY PART just seems logical.

What I don't understand is why Regent didn't get their act enough together to let us know what the alternative cruise was going to be when they decided to cancel the crossing. Clearly, if Regent is able to announce a "new" itinerary on Monday, they could have timed things better.

For us, SPLASH was an opportunity to visit Spain for the first time and being with friends we've met through B&K, much more than experiencing our first crossing, though the savings on a crossing was a nice benefit.

Ngaire: When has Regent ever been "logical"? "Disfunctional"? now that fits!

Ray and I booked today for the Nov.20 to Dec 4,2011 .....Still don't have a room assignment yet.

Planing on going in to Rome (my favorite city in Italy...next to Portofino) a few days early.

Will probably stay at our favorite boutique hotel at Trevi Fountain.....Please add us to the list.

Love where we stay in Rome, on a small quiet street behind Trevi, so nice to be able to see the fountain without the throngs of people.Being able to walk to the Pantheon and dine in front of it most nights or in the Piazza Navarone.
God, can you tell I love Rome?

Well Jan B and I are switched!! :D

What would you like to do about roll call?
(I went ahead and changed it until we decide)
Should we change the name or stick with "SPLASH". (Do have 3 stops in Spain so it still kind of works).

Let me know your thoughts and I will redo the roll call.

We could always "tweek" the name:

SPLASHER:
S Spain
P Plus
L Laughs
A At
S Sea
H Homewards
E Es(is)
R Revised

Or just leave it as it is.
