What a surprise..our documents came yesterday for the Discovery Collection cruise on Navigator. We have never received the documents this early! We don't leave until Oct 6.

One disappointment...they changed the hotel at Petra from one next to the gates to Petra to one 10 minutes away. We were looking forward to being able to stay longer in Petra and make it back to the hotel on our own rather than spending "the afternoon" at the hotel before return to the ship.

However, seeing Petra for the second time will be wonderful and the hotel does look like it has a spectacular view over the valley!

What hotel are we now in for Petra? Is that 10 minutes away a 10 minute drive? How disapointing! I'd hoped to get as much time in Petra as possible--I don't really see the point of just hanging around a hotel.

I wouldn't let the change of hotel deter you (though I have to admit, we were at one of the closest hotels if not the closest). It would be worth grabbing a cab to have more time in Petra.

While the documents still say we are at the Movenpick Petra, my TA says Regent notified her that we will be at the Movenpick Nabatian. I looked it up on the interent and it looks like a very nice hotel...just a 10 minute drive away!

I had not thought about a cab...good idea!

The documents are not much different from any cruise...just a much thicker excursion book.

TripAdvisor has three good reviews out of nine on the Movenpick Nabatian. :rolleyes: Let's hope they improve in 2 months.

I found out today the true meaning of doc dancing. When I got the email saying my TA has my docs, I found myself dancing a little jig in my office. I didn't even realize it until someone came in and just looked at me funny.

Some of you all may know that my mom had heart valve replacement surgery and one by-pass yesterday. It was a rush job, but she is doing really well, thank God.
