Hi all - Just wanted to let you know about a driver we use in Athens, used him for our private tour before B2B and have him booked for our transfers for TUT. I know many of you use Stellios, but Spiros is every bit as good and reliable and wanted to let everyone know if you would like to contact him.

www.Athenstaxi.net (Athens Taxi Service)
Spiros is my contact
email: spirostours@yahoo.com

He also recommended the restaurant we did on B2B, and is again setting up the group dinner for TUT for me.

He also does tours in and around Atens, Peleponnese penninsula, Delphi, all that stuff.

JoAnn, do you happen to know how much it is for the taxi ride from the Airport to Hotel Grande Bretagne? Or how long it takes? We're scheduled to arrive Oct. 2nd @ 5:30 and want to make the dinner you're arranging that evening.
Thanks again for taking care of that too.

Spiros quoted me 45 euros. My recollection from B2B was that the Intercontinental was around 45 mins to an hour, so should be approximately the same. Don't know how Saturday night traffic might be, but if you book the transfer with him he might be able to give you an idea. I just emailed him with our arrival info and he confirmed back in around 24 hours. We are also using him for transfer to the ship, which is 35 euros.

He says the restaurant, which is at the top basically of the plakka, is walkable for those in "good shape" lol about 15 minutes and he will give me directions for doing that. But you could take a cab from the hotel and if you are lucky you might get a driver who knows how to get to the top, and its just a couple of doors, or if they drop you at the bottom of the stairs, you just have to walk up tons of them and its right at the top.

Does it make sense to get a large vehicle to take the whole (or at least most of the) group to the port? Would Spiros be able to do that?

I don't know Peggy, I can certainly ask him. I think Stellios might be able to do that, but don't know if Spiros can, but he might be able to provide several cabs that could accommodate maybe three people plus luggage.

I need to email him about some stuff tomorrow, i will ask.
