Ngaire has informed me that it is time to add another cruise to the 2009 escorted list!

CPH to CPH on the Vogager.
6/26/09 - 7/10/09
Captain's Norway Homecoming

I would like to start a poll for this one as it is next in line for the year after the FLL to Dover cruise so how about some of your wonderful acronyms!!

Look what you will almost win, this lovely Captain teapot!

I agree it is a good one. I was going to suggest fiords 2 but like this one. Would it be better as CAPTAIN Cruising and Perfect Times in Norway
as there is only one Capt. Capt Dag.

If any one is interested, and you probably are not but am going to tell you any way. Carol and I are booked on this cruise as are two very good friends of ours. I think one other member of this board who I will let come public is also booked. A couple we met on LAMB told us two days before the end of the cruise they would see us on the Capt. Day homecoming cruise.

Should be a great cruise and now that Ngaire will escort how can you pass it up. Book early so you can get your choice of cabin. Carol and I along with our friends are on deck 6. We will have our own block parties.

This cruise is going to Captain Knute's hometown on Spitzbergen. I would prefer this itinerary to the one we did for FJORDS as you get two stops in Spitzbergen.

How about CAPTAINS

Cruising And Perfect Times Abound In Nevlunghaven Slendour.

Or something similiar I am not good at these.

THis trip is going to Nevlunghaven (Captain Dag's hometown, therefore pretty safe bet Captain Dag will be at the helm). It is a special little town I always enjoy going there.

My mistake...it is the 2008 cruise that is going to Ny Alesund. It also goes to Stavanger on the southern coast. I see the 2009 cruise as it does not go to Spitzbergen has a lot more ports and fewer sea days.

By the way, who is Captain McNeil?

Quote
Captain McNeill's Homecoming Cruise

Join Captain John McNeill as he navigates Seven Seas Voyager to his homes.

Captain John McNeill was born in Ireland, raised in Scotland and now lives in southern England, so this British Isles cruise is actually three homecomings for him. Swap golf tales with the Captain - an avid golfer and bagpipe music buff - as you chart a course from Copenhagen to the land of kilts, castles and the St. Andrews course. In Scotland, call at South Queensferry (Edinburgh), the remote Orkney Islands and the wildly beautiful Isle of Skye.

In Ireland, Belfast offers the scenic Ards Peninsula and Giant's Causeway. Dublin is gateway to the green wilderness of Wicklow County. And the countryside of Cobh (Cork) is where the Bells of Shandon ring. From England's historical Bristol, sail to Falmouth and picturesque Cornish villages before disembarking in Southampton. A self-confessed ship enthusiast, Captain McNeill knows these waters well. He achieved his first command at the age of 31 and was, at the time, the youngest captain on the busy channel between the Continent and the British Isles. So share the fun and his memories on this festive three-isle homecoming.

Also remember when choosing a acronym for the cruises that B&K now does pins so to keep that in mind when selecting a name. For example, Koala and VIking will be easy to make an emblem for the pin while other names might be much harder, if you can't actually make an emblem out of the name.

Our LAMB pin was a really cute one, here is a picture of it:

Oh I like that Reindeer too, thats a good one.
The poll will decide.

Marc, Captain McNeill I have not met but he is getting RAVE reviews. Everyone that sails with him just adores him so I hope to meet him someday.

Marc, I have had the opportunity to cruise with Capt. MacNeill twice. He captains the Navigator since Alfa Romeo moved over to the Marnier. He is quite personable, plays bagpipe music on sailaways and sports a kilt on formal nights. I hope you get an opportunity to sail with him.

Captain McNeill was on our No-Name cruise. A wonderful man who was very present around the ship and so gracious and friendly! Also, very nice eye candy for the ladies! ;) :woh:

Oh Wayne you can come up with some great ones. Keep those brainwaves flowing. How I will make a pin from DIVINE would sure be a challenge.

Okay, now I'm clueing in to the pin thing and why Ngaire needed names already for some of the previously picked 2009 polls that are already done. Pat....I like your reindeer and it would make a very cute pin. I never knew that these were given out on group cruises so it's a really nice thing to look forward to.

Was that "Devine" photo taken before or after a Regent cruise?

Well that made me laugh. Can you imagine wearing a pin around that looked like that.

They are fun and also fantastic for using as magnets on the cabin walls. They hold the daily passages and invitations etc on the wall perfectly.

Mitch - Wonderful! Thanks for finding the photo. You know, this does fit pretty well, Ngaire. Norway loves their trolls .. the more the hair is spiked out all over, the more they are valued. Those not in the know may think the pin is Miss Troll 2008!

The pins are great .. Not only do they look great, they are perfect for wall magnets in the cabins.

Cheers, Anne

No Karen.....that's not what I meant......didn't mean to confuse you. I know that the polls are closed for the two cruises that already have names. I meant that now that I know about the pins and read somewhere on another thread that Ngaire needed names for the cruises (that have already been voted on and picked and are now closed) that I was clueing in to it all. Nothing more and I certainly did not expect any polls that are closed to be opened up again. So all is well!
