TSA has launched a test program that allows people with Global Entry / NEXUS etc. to an expedited security which allows you to keep shoes / jackets on, laptop / liquids don't need to be taken out, most likely not subject to the "radiation machines". Right now, the test is only with American Airlines & Delta at their hubs in Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit. I think that it will expand to other airports / airlines in the near future.
Since Platinum AMEX "pays for" Global Entry and this expedited screening is a pretty big benefit, for those who don't have Global Entry yet, it might be worthwhile to apply.

It's worth the effort to apply and you do it online. We had our conditional approval and set up the interview on line. The interview took 20 minutes and you pick the location you want for interview. The whole process from application to interview and approval took only a week. Jim

FYI--American Airlines Platinum and Executive Platinum members are also eligible for the TSA program currently being tested at some airports --not sure about Delta super elite members, but I imagine they are too.

To my knowledge, Delta requires "super elites" (Diamonds & Platinums) to be enrolled in Global Entry also to be eligible - but to be honest haven't been paying close attention since we both have Global Entry anyways.

Doug, We have the same thing and only one charge was refunded. Still, $100.00 free is better than 000. Jim

If you have 2 cards (one an authorized user - there is a fee however), both will get the fee refunded.
