Greetings All, This is to introduce ourselves to the ROAR 2 group. We are Pat and Ray from Mississauga Ontario. I'm retired and Ray is thinking about it. We have been cruisers for 17 years as well as "land travellers" almost everywhere except Africa.After having lunch with Ray and Penny recently and hearing what a wonderful time they had with Ngaire in Africa we sent an inquiry regarding ROAR2 itinerary.Lo and behold we were hooked on it. Since this will be our first Safari we are having Ngaire plan a pre tour up to Victoria Falls to the Royal Livingstone Hotel and then on to Kwahai River Lodge before heading down to Cape Town. Is anyone else thinking about this? Some how when I think safari I think Tents. Looking forward to becoming part of the tour and meeting y'all.

Welcome Pat and Ray. We are friends of Ray and Penny and did ROAR1 with them. We stayed at the Royal Livingstone Hotel. You are doing it the right way. It is certainly not of the calibre of the safari, which is anything BUT tents..the lodge was nicer than our house!!! We are doing ROAR2 since we enjoyed ROAR1 so much we said, "ROAR is so expensive, but we'll never do anything like this again, so we might as well do it." It was so wonderful, it is the only trip we have ever, ever repeated.

Penny and I are elated that you're going to do some ROARing with some neat people. Luxury upon luxury it is and the animals top it all off.

If a village tour is offered, don't pass it up like I almost did. It was not only a heartwarming experience but very entertaining and fun as well.

Ray and Penny did a township tour in Capetown and really found it enlightening. We did a Soweto tour in Johanesburg and also would recommend this as well. I think one township tour or the other is all that is needed -- not both. You walk away humbled. Ray's recommendation of a village tour is a completely different experience too. Very heartwarming.

So glad you posted here so people know you are now "Official Roarers" Ray and Pat are on LAMB so many of us will meet them PRE-ROAR!

Welcome Pat and Ray. We are new ROARers ourselves. And, we met Ray and Penny when they came to Tucson to visit their daughter. Your pre-tour plans sound interesting. We haven't even thought of pre-tour. Guess we should get busy contemplating it.

Oh, we are on LAMB too. They'll be plenty of days for us to talk ROAR.
