Yesterday Doug and I dashed out to the Wildflower festival. It wasn't much of a festival. There was one crafts tent and Doug said "You even got me to a crafts fair in Africa!" as I always drag him to these things. The day wasn't cold but the wind was fierce. We then went over to a tent where they had arrangements of beautiful wildflowers and another room where they identified them. Evidently, there are more wildflower species here than anyplace else in the world. We then decided to go on a walk in this nature preserve, which was lovely with a backdrop of mountains and a long range focal site of the ocean. I couldn't believe all the gorgeous natural plants. I haven't figured out how to download my photos yet, but Doug promised he would do it today for me. We then found an exhibition area where landscapers were displaying how to landscape with wildflowers. I sure wish we had these plants back home. They landscape architecture was really lovely. We decided to shoot back to say goodbye to folks instead of continuing to town for more walking. We arrived just in time.
We were said to say goodbye to Leonard, Andrea, Cathy, Joan, June, Cindy, Mark knowing we won't see them again except for the Federal air terminal. Gil, BIll and Arlene showed up and the rest of the new arrivals were still feeling rather groggy having had such an early arrival for the no shark day. We all settled into lunch and then it started raining very hard.
The rest of the day was a quiet one until dinner and we had a fantastic one at that. Today will be a wine tour and I fear no sharks again as it is blustery and rainy again. We'll try to take some time to post some pics later on. I'm sure glad I have my new jacket....I'm going to take some walks today no matter what the weather brings.
