No Al and Betty, dont forget Kristen and Greg who posted they were coming. You can add my sister June to that list also. A few others but they can post themselves if they want to be added to the list.

I'm so sorry about Al & Betty!! At least we'll be with them at Mateya in February!! Guess they decided 2 safari's in one year is enough.

I'm thrilled that June is coming, can't wait to see her again! How about Brian coming?

We're sorry Al and Betty won't be there too..It's amazing it's almost the entire ROAR1, less (sadly) Suzanne, our buds Ray and Penny, Al and Betty, and non-lcters, but great fun...Joe and Judy and Tommie and Mike...and of course, we will miss Linda and Ron.

But, then, there are the wonderful new additions...something to really look forward to.

My error. They sent an email but it was in reference to the World Cruise safari and Madikwe not the 2008 ROAR.

That's great news, Ngaire.....

Hi all --

We have officially sent our papers in - I think we are on the list or maybe "wannabees" - either way it will workout. Still can't believe we have sent in money for a trip I hardly understand, don't know how much it costs and is in 2008. My total trust is in all the LCT posts I have been reading since ROAR 1. Know it will be a great trip and look forward to meeting all of you.

Hello Everyone,

Wow, you go away for a few days and you all have planned and booked another fabulous trip. ROAR 2 looks great. We won't be able to join this one as we can't really travel in September. :(

We are planning on going back in 2009 - I turn 50 that July cheer

Hi Everyone!

Gee, thanks for all the thoughts! We just now TODAY got a cable connection hooked up in our new condo, so I've been out of touch for a while.

Before that was a 5000+ mile drive back to Seattle from Florida. One of the best parts was that we stopped in Dallas/Ft. Worth and saw Ngaire and Ken, Linda and Ron, and Peggy and Jerry. The 'other' Wolfs were even kind enough to put us up for a night. It really was all a great time. The whole trip took 23 days, but who was counting ...

Anyhow, ROAR 2. We've decided to not do this for several reasons. First of all, there's all the $$$$$$ going to the WC for 2007. Second, there's the fact that we'll be going to Mateya during that trip. Thirdly, we'll have already been on three safari trips.

I'm sorry to miss ROAR 2. I really do think our group was without equal. Al and I came into it not having met a soul, and came away from it feeling like we had 35 new friends. However, as much as we like to pretend otherwise, our travel budget IS limited!!

So I guess we'll just have to live vicariously through the board for this one ...

We'll be watching!

Betty

Betty, you should tell everyone the real highlight of your trip--it has to be the Longhorn Cattle Drive and the cowboys, right? We loved having you--ya'll come back now...

Hi Peggy!

Hope you're having fun baby-sitting!

Al and I prefer to describe it to friends as the "Longhorn Stampede"!!!

Peggy & Jerry took us into old Fort Worth to see the Longhorns as the cowboys take them down the street each day. The "Longhorn Shuffle" or maybe the "Longhorn Mosey" would be more apt descriptions, but we like to make it sound wild and dangerous when we tell people the story ...

Next, Peggy & Jerry are coming to Seattle ...???

Michelle, thanks. We really enjoyed you, too. I STILL wish we'd met you at Hermanus!! It will be sad to see ROAR 2 go without us, but eventually we have to accept the fact that we simply can't do every trip!

Betty, you and Al definitely made the most of a long trip (I HATE long driving trips, Las Vegas from So.Cal is about my limit). I need to take tips from you! So happy you had fun with Peggy & Gerry and Ngaire & Ken. This "Longhorn Mosey" sounds fun!

Isn't it great to make friends through cruising and then see them on their turf or yours??? OR in a compromise city???

Betty--we'll let you know when we plan to head to Seattle. Joanna--I think meeting people is the best part of travelling. We've met so many great people travelling that we've maintained as friends and now there's all these great potential friends on LCT. Next week we'll be in Norfolk visiting our son and plan to get together with Suzy (from ROAR I) while we're there. Who knows, we may end up in your back yard one of these days--that would be great fun! :)

Joanna and Tony are incredible hosts! Their friends are a riot (MUSHers, you'll meet some of them) and the hospitality superb.

Now if I can just get Gary to go with me when I drop in ...

cheers, Anne

Suzie--JW Blue???? Wow, that makes Jerry feel very important. What fun that was when Marc discovered they had JW Blue at Singita. Jerry and Marc were in seventh heaven--it was almost as good as winning the lottery...

We're less than two hours from Joanna. I also have a bottle of JW Blue for sipping.

Anne, you and Gary can do the Florida tour stopping frequently around the state.

Marc - Thanks for the invitation! Gerry - don't worry, we aren't scotch drinkers so there will be plenty when you arrive.

The trick for us will be getting Gary to be in the same place with me in the lower 48 states. Cheers, Anne
