Here is a shot of Captain Dag's wife, Christine. Hopefully someone else will have a closer photo as this one is cropped. ![[Linked Image]](http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h137/thecleave/CaptainDagsWife.jpg)

Bag update....make that no bag update.
Last night, our friendly baggage claim agent, Daniel, called to say that instead of our bags going to Tucson, they took a ride on Alaska and then back to LAX. Daniel says that if they don't come to us today, he's getting on a plane and delivering them himself. Now our three bags are down to two and he's not sure where the other one is. The saga continues.
Andrea, those are great people shots! Hope you are feeling better soon. Janet, my SIL, came home with a kidney infection, too. Must be the water cause it couldn't be all that alcohol ;) .

Sorry to hear about your lost luggage, Donna. Seems our luggage sometimes travels more than we do!

Donna, so glad you are close to the finish line getting your luggage! I returned with all luggage, but a cold.
When we were at Dag's house, I didn't get a shot of the Captain's lovely wife, Christine (I could only take pictures when Suzanne held the umbrella over my head). She is lovely, a classy lady with impeccable taste and grace, and just makes everyone feel at ease and special, a tall order for one who does not have to deal with strangers coming onto their lawn every day! I enjoyed being WAY across the dinner table from them on PARTY, the NYE cruise turning into 2006, and especially enjoyed watching their two children have such a good time on that cruise. This time, each of their children came aboard with 2-3 friends each for a day or two, and it was fun watching SOMEONE having fun in the pool! The "girl" group stayed apart from the slightly older "boy" group. All were so well behaved, and had a wonderful time! I wanted to approach "little Dag" or "little Christine" to tell them how great they were this cruise and last. They would have hated that!

Donna,
Awesome photos! Thanks for posting them!
Good to hear your luggage found their way back home. Now, wouldn't it be nice if you not only accumulated FF miles for their long journey, in addition to your clothes laundering themselves while they were in transit?
Olivia,
Hope you're feeling much better!

Hi from Rome - what a great post trip hard to believe it is almost over - we rode the bus to Spanish Steps and have done lots of walking - our apt really is lovely - our routine seems to be hit the street at 10ish and walk and lunch and back to apt for siesta around 3ish - wine and nibbles and then dinner - expresso sambuca in a piazza till almost midnight - miss all of the wonderful LCTers from Fjords - it was such a wonderful trip with such great memories - home Sat night we do miss our cats - we have had very nice weather here - Tom and Marcie are a joy as traveling companions need I say how many laughs we have had???? Can't believe how quickly this week has flown by....actually the past 3 weeks! We've had a great time with lots of walking, eating great food, Sambuca, great espresso, people watching, lots of laughs etc. As Tony keeps saying, it doesn't get any better than this! Renting this apartment has been great....perfect in every way. Not looking forward to our long flight home on Saturday, we've been spoiled with seeing the world without too much flying.
Will catch up on all the FJORDS pictures when I get home, looks like some great ones!
This sure has been a fantastic 3 weeks! Hope we have better luck with our luggage going home than we had from CPH to Rome but all's well that ends well!
Marcie

another beautiful day in Rome - we rented our apt through Excellent Europe - apt Landini 3 bedr 3 baths with huge terrace - we are 2 blocks from Campo de Fiori in the Jewish Ghetto - the building is really beautiful and we love the location - plan another day of exploring and we have stumbled upon some very good Mom and Pop restaurants in our area - I love Trastevere and we had the most wonderful lunch there yesterday at Augustos in Piazza Renzi - Trastevere is called the working mans Rome little alleys and full of life - I compare our neighborhood to the west village in NYC - frankly I get so bored with the Gucci Prada Fendi shops near Via Veneto - but then I get bored with Park and Fifth in NYC so depends on your interests - we have been very pleased with this week and the apt worked sooooo well - get picked up at 7:15 am tomorrow and back in PVB, if all goes well, tomorrow night at 8 PM - great vacation - Joanna

Today is our final day in the French Alps - back home tomorrow. Will upload more photos to picasa but here are a few: Mont Blanc view from our chalet: ![[Linked Image]](http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/lkbside/montblanc.jpg) hiking from Brevent to Flegere: ![[Linked Image]](http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/lkbside/hike.jpg) the town of Beaufort is festooned for the pass through of the Tour de France on Sunday, July 15. Note the t-shirts in the trees: ![[Linked Image]](http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/lkbside/beaufort.jpg) Atop the Aguille des Grands Montets - note the little black figures on the right on the snow who are climbing with ropes, crampons & ice axes. We got up there on the lift! ![[Linked Image]](http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/lkbside/aguilledesgrandsmonets.jpg)

Spectacular Leslie, what class hike was that to reach Aguille des Grands Montets? I'm harkening back to our little expedition in search of the bronze age stones.
